A small band at a wedding, karaoke, keyboard at weddings and I am old school I love a preamp before my processing.

I love using a preamp too. I have one but it is not rack mounted. I am thinking of buying one. It adds a lot of headroom to the signal so it keeps the gain clean.

I'm gonna pick up one of their small mixers for video voiceover work as well.

Rick,
I have 2 of the small Xenyx Mixers that i'm not using anymore, If your interested let me know...

1 is the 802, And the other is the 502 (i think) its the really tiny one.

Do they have the effects processor on board?

After almost 40 years of smoking -- I need the effects... :sqerr: :sqlaugh:

No. They have no effects on board..

I needed the effects too, But wanted that same small footprint, so i ended up with the Alesis Multi-Mix...Its better than my B-ringers were....And has decent effects....$150..

Just for the record... as a gear sponsor on this board and one who does not sell Behringer... I was not offended by the post, nor did I see it as spam. I really appreciate what the mods do here to protect our community and make it an enjoyable place for all, and Sparkie was no doubt acting in that spirit. But I encourage us to all benefit from the sharing of information and the discussions about gear of every shape and flavor.

Keep on postin!

Ben

Ben, yer sitting in the middle of the frozen tundra, surrounded by hot chicks -- you have no time to be offended... :sqwink: :sqlaugh:

I think Behringer is a love it or hate it thing. Some people have had terrible experiences with the equipment and some have had great experience with them.

I'm in the second group.
The Behringer stuff I own is the following.
DX-1000 Mixer retired to backup after purchasing my RANE MP44. The mixer was bought in 2002 and it's been flawless, faders and crossfader have been excellent with no bleed at all.
2 FBQ-6200 1/3 Octave 31 band EQ's no problem here either.
1 Europower EP2500 amp as a backup to my 2 QSC RMX2450's and PLX2 3102 , I'm impressed with it. I ran it hard for hours while testing and it didn't miss a beat. I've had it hooked up in my exercise room to a pair of old school JVC dually 12's and no problems.

Houston has been using a VMX1000 for 5 years and no problems. In the case of the VMX1000 Groovielou had a lot of problems with his VMX1000 so we can conclude that some are lucky and some aren't ;)

Hey Rick I have owned quite a few Behringer items over the years, actually my very first DJ setup was all Behringer. The weak link was always the mixers though. I seemed to go through sliders like nothing else. I started out with a 12 channel mixer and lost 3 faders in the first two months, I then bought a 6 channel mixer and one of the faders was bad right out of the box. I cant say because I have no experience with pots but I have found their sliding faders to be quite poorly designed. I still had a Behringer 1500 amp, Eurolive 1520's and a pair of B300s that were all good pieces.

young...

Zinc.

Nice rack. That Carver was one of my favorite amps back in the day. Still is today, I wish I never sold it.

I love my Carver I actually own 2 Carvers the PM1.5a and a PM 2.0 for running tops there is not much out there that equals the sonics of the Carvers. When I tell some young dj's that that amp is older than them their jaws usually drops.

I was skeptical at first because of the price of the system, but it is clear long range and each channel has its own output. I never had a system like this and at first was suprise to hear a relay click in the system whenever a mic was turned on.

I picked up that same system not too long ago. I was amazed at the quality for the price and it has worked well for me on the last couple events. I want to get two more.

I have that same mixer too and I love it. I only wish it has a midrange adjustment on each channel. Then it would be perfect.

......

Again, my apologies for citing it as SPAM - sometimes watching over 5 television stations in Network control overnight makes me a little goofy.

Anyone know when the Behringer EP4000 will be available?

Too bad NLFXPRO doesn't sell any Behringer products, I'd rather buy everything from them. Maybe Ben will start carrying some Behringer amps? At 1400wpc@4 ohms and around $350 street price they're going to sell lots and lots. Compare to a QSC RMX2450 with less power at $700. Not everyone has $700-$1,400 for an amp.

You get what you pay for.

Compare a QSC RMX2450...to the Behringer EP4000.
Here is a equally valid comparison:

i'm looking at the comparison and laughing real loud, tell me if i'm mistaken here,i know the idea of "you get what you pay for" but in my little experience i'm seeing and hearing that compatibility is an issue when it comes to final sound output.i tried 2 other amps before i settled for the crown which i'm pleased with.final output and compatibilty with your equipment makes for good sound quality.am i gasping in the wind or what?

I own 12 ep2500 amps, and 2 QSC RMX 2450 amps.. I use these behringer as monitor amps.

I use all PLX gear for my sound systems, but I can tell you this... After 5 years, both QSC have been in for repair... all of the behringers are still Kickin'.

here's another thing..... If you open up a behringer and QSC side by side, even the boards are almost identical.. they use the same components, same caps, same pots, same sockets, plugs, and even dip switch panels....

My repair shop even told me that you can use a schematic from one to troubleshoot the other...

I know they're not made by the same factory probably, but it's definitely a faithful reproduction.

I buy my EP-2500's for $269 each... I can buy almost 3 for the price of a QSC...

And I can tell you honestly, side by side, there is no difference in performance either way....

I highly recommend this amp... great value!

why is it called Iron I could use an amp that dubs as an iron for my wrinkly tuxedo shirts...
