Not like JTV who grabbed his bullhorn and made the formal Dyna, Dyna, Dyna blow your horn announcement for the first six months.

Glad you made the announcement big guy, because I had no clue the Dyna's were that good until you informed us.

Maybe one of these days I will grab a set but the price is way out of my range. I am more on target for a set of ZX5A's and another Yorkville LS800p. This rig fits my budget.

John....at MAP price, (2)ZXA-5's + (1) LS800P is around $4,700...

The D-Lite 1002 like Keith just got can be had for less than that (and that also includes cables, stands, covers AND the additional passive sub)!!!

Dynacord is not cheap by any means, but considering what any other powered speaker setup would cost, it's really not out of reach.

Of course, the sheer output of the previously mentioned EV/Yorkville rig would be greater than the D-Lite 1002 system...if you really need that much horsepower, you should consider purchasing...

(2) D-12-3
(cables, stands and covers are included)
- the pricing would be nearly identical!!!

Mr D. Thanks for giving me more things to think about now. I am just amazed at the output and the weight of the ZX5a. I will check out the above Dyna speakers on the site. I will try to find a place here in NY to give it a listen.

JTV your praises were highly appreciated. You spoke highly of these speakers way before you even made the purchase. It was your insight that sparked the Dynacord name here. Prior to that I have never heard of them. So Michael owes you a check for the positive advertising.

Add another sub 115 to that, and that system sounds awfully familiar to me!! Yup, I'm in LOVE!

Im contiplating this exact system you had mentioned but....

I don't know if I want 3 way speakers. I was leaning toward the D12 is the Powersub 315 really enough power for the system?

I'm scared too af a powered sub as I have toasted a few of them in my day. I have had much better contol with my passive rigs.

Cam - I know what you mean, it could be a little nerve-racking with all your amplifier eggs in one basket (so to speak). I personally run a pair of the passive 15-3's with passive 18 subs bi-amped with LX3000's and a DSP-244 processor (thank God for employee discounts!). Really I only do it this way because I am brain damaged...well, maybe I just like it really, really, really really LOUD!

That being said, in my 5 years with the company I have never seen nor heard of a Powersub 315 failing. I just looked through our system and every single return authorization that we have issued in the U.S. was due to damage that occurred during shipment. The added voice coil tracking protection circuits make it virtually imposssible to blow the woofer and the amp module itself has the same protection package as Dynacord outboard amplifiers have (Audio Limiters, High Temperature, DC, HF, Back-EMF, Peak current Limiters Inrush Current Limiters, and Turn-On delay). I would not hesitate to use this sub myself each and every day...it is more than adequate for the additional satellite speakers as well.

Now as far as the D12 vs. the D12-3, it is all a matter of personal taste. I personally prefer the smoother midrange of the 3-way vs. the "crispy" high end of the 2-way. You really can't go wrong either way, but the 3-way box coupled with the sub will give you a true 4-way system which in turn allows each transducer to work a little easier reproducing a smaller portion of the frequency spectrum.

Just buy it...you'll dig it!
