Steve Sharp - I've taken Tik Tok and edited it down to where I feel i can play it at my next ms dance (in two weeks)....the bottle in no longer "jack", "tipsy"....is nonexistent....the boys are not getting drunk drunk, but are now getting "crunk crunk".

I've always made decisions about songs based on the tone and overall intent of a song...lyrics are secondary....

That being said...Tik Tok may get played; 3 won't...

as for "good girls gone bad"; it hasn't been requested....looking at the lyrics....I may just pass

After further looking at the list, yes there are songs I don't agree with, but, its in my opinion a great reference to have by your side at a gig when you get a strange request.

As far as the fee, I'm not sure what to make of it yet, I haven't registered, and haven't herd of it from anybody, let alone any school yet.

A big problem that I had found when doing school gig's was even when a clean version
was played....the kids would add the woulds back in anyway giving the school the idea that I wasn't playing "radio friendly tunes.
I would explain to the principle and admin. staff that YOU will be playing "clean" songs and it's up to THEM to keep the kids mouths clean.
Hey!!!! isn't that what chaperons are SUPPOSED to do????

Note.....I'd stay away from....I'm on a Boat!!! :)

Brian - Of anyone here I am probably the most cautious when it comes to music selection for children, especially middle school....

Every song has sexual connotations....but this is high school...18 year olds; adults and near adults..... I'd have no problems playing most any radio edit...I wouldn't play Crank Dat or 3 or If you seek Amy...but that's me....Is the principal going to have an issue with Tik Tok or Sexy Chick?

Unless you get an "approved" list, I fear you may be in for a world of hurt

Absolutely if he likes good music.... :sqwink::sqerr::sqbiggrin:
