I had all intentions of making the trip. Not having the event near a casino or at a casino kinda broke it for me. I'm not one for traveling without my wife, I find it unfair to go to some small city where she would have nothing to do.

I hope that everyone has a good time and sorry I will not be there.

Pretty small-minded if you ask me. (which I know you didn't) :sqerr:

How about stepping out of your comfort zone and trying something a bit different for a change. Small town life has alot of advantages to you big city slickers. :sqwink:

Alrighty, looks like I've got some posts to respond to here.

First up, if people would like somewhere to set up their gear for some reason or another, or if Ben comes and brings some toys, that can be arranged. Things wouldn't be able to be setup and left regardless of location (short of our house), but I should be able to get anything from a small classroom, medium and large lecture halls, small ballrooms, possibly one of the main ballrooms (don't quote me on that one) and not sure if I can get ahold of the "Jedi Conference Room." So for this one, it's up to what people want to do.

For those attending, I've got: Rob, Kirby & Coreen, Randy & Carmen, Briar (and possibly his wife, Sandy), Curt (DJCC) & Erin.

Ah, the Triple XXX. It's diner food, but man it's good. The place only accepts cash however, but it's a very unique place (heck it's one of the last two in the country). The only seating is counter style seating where the waitress comes up and takes your order. For two people, if you go all out including tip, you could run into $20. Many of the burgers are named after famous Boilermakers...(Bob's BBQ is from former Purdue QB Bob Greise). A very unique atmosphere, during home game weekends, you'll find drunken college students sitting side by side with 80 year old almuni.

For those attending, I did run across another thing that could be done...Wolf Park...http://wolfpark.org

Cam, kinda sucks that you're not up for any kind of adventure.

I can't believe I forgot about the Triple XXX!! Diner food at its best!!

Yeah, they do only take cash, but there are ATMs inside the Union (and I'm sure at the Holiday Inn). When in doubt, I think they do have an ATM there.

For those who are into nature, there's also Celery Bog and Horticulture Park.

As time gets closer, we'll find out more about what sort of live entertainment will be at the bars and potentially the Lafayette Theater.

Very cool, thanks for the update Jon. Coreen and I are very excited about this meet & greet and are looking forward to experiencing the local flavor of your home turf.. :)

I just have to eat at a place called the Triple XXX at least once in my life. :) Cash is not a problem, some of us older folks still use it...:sqwink:

By the way, I'm glad that people like the new avatars. ;)

Not like, Love 'em... :) :p

This meet and greet sounds like fun. I hope you guys have a great time. Networking on the boards kicks ass. Greatest way to meet some really good folks. Awesome idea.

I'm sure we will. :)

Like Randy said before our first meeting was fun, but way too short... :)

Since, I've stirred up some &^%^, I'm bowing out of this.
