For the longest while I've been looking to replace my Wiedamark LED par cans with a "bar" type light. I felt, with a truss; a "Bar" light would add aesthetically, to the overall appearance of the set up.

The cans were getting beat up...they're 4 years old now...I'm thinking of relegating them to uplight status....

I've been really pleased with them. They still, in my book, are about the best LED par can out there.

I looked at the Chauvet, ADJ, Microh offering...almost pulled the trigger on a pair of ADJ Megapixels....

I happened to stumble upon this manufacturer based on a lead from a poster on another board.......

I haven't posted a name or url out of respect for Dan and Ben; if Dan gives me the go- ahead, I will.

Hemmed and hawed...then said wtf and ordered 3 of their 12 bulb wall washers; 12 3 watt bulbs (4 red, 4 blue, 4 green)

They came direct from Hong Kong...ordered on Jan 11th, arrived Feb 14th...they sat 10 days in customs....

Total cost (incl. shipping tax and customs)...about 375 usd; about 125/ fixture. The Chauvet mini strips are running $149 usd.....these have 12 3watt bulbs....

They came well packed, in a non nondescript box (3) in a bag, encased in styrofoam.

These are 3 channel dmx; dimming channel for each color....no global dimming unfortunately.

These fixtures feel solid and sturdy....not cheap...cords are secured with heavy duty fittings...the faceplate has a seal; they may be rated for outdoor use... Each unit has a 4 foot, 3 pronged power cord and also a 12: 3 pin dmx "in" and out" cord and plug...These can be daisy chained....

The bracket adjust in 2 fashions....they can slide along the back of the fixture so the two brackets can be positioned anywhere...they also articulate, for up and down movement.

The holes on the brackets are not big enough for the standard "o clamp" bolt.

Construction; fit and finish .. A+

Programming is via 2 buttons on the top with an LED readout and is simple and straightforward...

Master slave is done by setting the first fixture at 001; the rest automatically follow the leader. There are 10 different programs; various colors, color changing and fading and strobing..

This fixture is not equipped with "function to sound" abilities....then again, it's function is that of a wall washer.

I haven't done any dmx work with it yet; I'll do some and post what I see.

I did hook these up on my truss at the back of my garage....it's 26 feet from the truss to the door.

These things are wicked bright; you'd be hard pressed to stare into them. That is issue # 1; so bright with no global dimming. In dmx I believe you can program "dim" colors. With my cans, I program at full brightness then globally dim, on the fly, if needed. With these bars, you'll have to do a chase at dim (for small venues) and one at bright.

I've bought some styrene panels at Home Dept, I'm going to experiment with the diffusion panels to see if I can lessen the "burn". Aiming them upwards may also help.

Will post the results on that experiment.

3 running together; I thought I'd stained the white garage door. As you can see these are bright and intense. I can tell you that the red, green blue and purple shades are fantastic; very, very vivid.... Yellow isn't bad either as are other colors....I believe 3 will light up a very large area easily.

I've ordered another one (symmetry and all) and will program them the same, so I can only use 2 if that seems sufficient.

I should note that the first purchase automatically gets you 10% off any other purchase subsequent. I saved 14 bucks on the 4th one just ordered

I think as dance floor lighting; with some consideration for the brightness these will more than be enough.

For you uplighters, I will put the against the wall in my living room (15 feet) and shoot some video. I also have access to a 20 foot garage; I'll try to get in there. Needless to say, I think they'll shine in that scenario.

I'll keep toying around with these and post the results...

Sorry for the messy garage....Just finished it a month ago; haven't organized it at all.

Comments, questions welcomed

I was just wondering what that looks like from outside the garage......

I bet your neighbors either think that you are on dope or your running a whore house. LOL

Sorry, I could'nt resist. :)

Nice review. Thanks!

Got the PM, and ordered one.. If They're worth a crap, I'll be getting 29 more for that price...

any comparison to a Chauvet Color strip?

I know that any 3 watt stuff I've seen has been ungodly bright, and with zero halo action.

I'm really excited..

All of this crappy 10mm LED stuff I own needs to go....

While I'm not going to run out and buy color kinetics, I'm migrating towards all 1, 2 and 3 watt fixtures from now on...

What a difference!

..I haven't posted a name or url out of respect for Dan and Ben; if Dan gives me the go- ahead, I will.

Feel free to post the link here. There's nothing wrong with genuine recommendations. No need to hide it and I'm truly sorry (but do appreciate the thought) you felt that was the case Steve.

I have to say, these guys are a pretty shady company to deal with though...

I ordered lights over 51 days ago, and now in addition to him taking my money, saying he never got the order, and then acknowledging my order but saying it was already delivered, now he's not even answering e-mails...

I do not recommend these guys at all.. I just bought 40 36x1 watt edison fixtures for about the same price from another chinese company who has e-mailed me an update every day, and shipped them on the 1st of april.. they're here in Atlanta, and will be delivered monday..

That's service!

This is why I trust Ben at NLFX. I have experienced what true Customer Service means. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the highest, I have to give Ben a 15. He did something that is over and beyond what was expected. Thanks again to Ben, Kat, Cooper and that Redhead from Grundorf.
Hey fellas! She does have a real nice voice (I'm trying to keep it modest, ok!). I called to get a question answered on one of the cases I am going to buy from Ben. I did not want to get off the phone!
Sorry for going off on a tangent y'all! :sqlaugh:

Steve - Sorry to hear that.....My experience was different; all 4 came through in pretty decent time....

Not vouching for them...just my experience.....

Please post pics and reviews of what you did order; I'd be interested....
