apparently some of you dont know who Joe is or where he has been. I will simply say he is a (Can I say it Jynxx?) Aww what the heck shoot my Im only the piano player, "INDUSTRY STANDARD" he has provided for several well known Industry Leading Remix services and has won Denon Sponsored competitions in Chicago only to name a bit of his accomplishments. I will Brag on him as he is my friend and I have known what he can do or has done for a long time. I ask any of you to go sign up on jymix.com and check out any of his remixes. Jy share that Fat Man MJ mix you made long time ago or any of your mixes to show these folks you are the real deal. He could clean house with the best of them back in his club days and even now being sick and all.

I've heard jynxx's work, next level. Get well soon.

Master of the mix is just another reality show thats not really reality.

I love this show, i wish they had a video section where u could hear the whole set because it does no justice on TV. I love this show, its almost as addictive as The Walking Dead :)

I have been a DJ for 21+ years. I have done shows and rooms for 10 to 10,000.... trust me, I know I can float, and I am absolutely not conceited or even cocky about it. It just irks me when I see people that have talent that is lower than most of the DJ's that I know. Trust me when I tell you that these guys really suck. My fiance doesn't even want to watch it anymore, after just 3 episodes. I plan on sticking it out, but so far there has been absolutely nothing that makes me think that any of these guys can actually rock a party or a club with the way they do things. The crowds speak for themselves. 9 times out of 10 they are just standing around. There are TWO guys that I think are good on there, but the rest almost seem like fluff.
Also, I wouldn't try to be the people's champ, I would audition for the show directly. And unfortunately I don't think they will find a cure for my sickness by Season 3. I have been sick for 3 years now, and I don't see it getting better any time soon. But believe me when I tell you that if I wasn't sick, I would definitely be auditioning for season 3. I would be counting down the days until season 3 then! lol

I know you guys think that I am just some guy talking ish, but IMO they all (except for the two I mentioned) really, honestly, suck. Badly. If I hear another "crash mix" I think I will shoot something. This may be just me, but I don't consider that a valid form of mixing at all. Do any of you?

And for you guys who don't know, "Crash Mixing" is where you just slam into another song. I can't describe it any better... there may be some scratching beforehand leading into the "mix", but it's pretty much just slamming the crossfader from one direction all the way to the other in one beat.
I can't stand it. It takes NO skill to do this. I just told my 11 year old how to do it and she did it just like I hear the people on MOTM. I could record her doing it if anyone wants lol. You can compare it to the people on the show... she sounds just like them ;)

I DO agree that I wish you could see their whole sets and not just the crap you see on the show. And don't get me wrong, most of these guys can scratch their asses off. Most of them are DOPE at scratching.
But it's not called Master of the Scratch. Their mixing is what I am talking about, and that is the whole point of the show. And so far I have seen no mixing that has made me go "Daaaamn!" at all.

Seriously.... just goes to show that all you need is a name. Not talent. Don't get me wrong, he can scratch a little better than average (he scratches just like me), and when he DOES mix, it sounds okay.... but that 80BPM to 110BPM crash mixing is horrible. I just can't see that as a "mix". Its no better than playing 2 songs on a CD one after the other.

And this may be nitpicking, but I really was annoyed how he played everything on the right side. He NEVER used his left! He would play it, then use SSL's "switch deck" feature. And what was up with all the premade mashups?? Dude. I do all that LIVE.
