Many of the owners of these lights rave about them, but unfortunately they aren't made anymore and I'm not too keen on taking the chance on buying used ones...So my question(s) are..



Is there anything close in abilities and pricing?


Or am I just S.O.L.? :sqwink:
 
Tyrone bought two and had to fix a couple minor issues. Papa has one but hasnt put it to use. There are an occasional one floating on ebay and its probably worth a shot if the seller has a record of many good sales.

Yes, but with my luck I'd get stuck with some crap..and I'm not sufficiently talented enough to do repairs...Not ruling out buying used.

Let's take the scenario that there are none to be had, but I want to find something similar?

See, that's the thing...

Not only does this light spin and tilt, it also changes axis while it spins and tilts. (I hope I'm using the right terminology)

I have not seen a light in its price range that does the same thing.
 
Call Tyrone he might help you out. Even if you found one on Ebay he would likely help ya and fix em for ya if they come in needing some tlc.
 
if I remember correct the 800/700/ and 600 Martin are similiar but big tanks in compare.
The American DJ and Chauvet might be a similiar animal but not able to hold a candle to the Bat.

Martin has the Mania SCX800 and is has the barrel mirror, same as the acrobat....

I have the Insignia 2.0s...they are NOT as impressive as the Acrobat.
 
I've bought two off eBay, had to buy a new mirror drum for one, but I knew that. The other one is basically brand new, not a scratch on it, but it is a 220 volt version, it came with a 110-220 converter, works great. I have yet to setup both of them at once for a job, one covers so much area alone. I have a larger light setup later in the year, think I will do it then. Might just do it this weekend, even though it is a small dance floor.
 
For people who have bought/sold these...what are they worth? I have 2 that I've been toying with selling but am afraid I may want them again in the future sometime.

Also, someone brought up the Mania 800. I saw them in an ad and they looked like they would be pretty comparable to the Acrobat...what's different between the Acrobat & the 800?

I have seen them as low as $175, and as high as $300 used.

The two I paid for were:

$179 + S&H

$223 + S&H
 
My acrobat was my first DMX light. I liked it so much, I got a second - Hands down, one of the best, most versatile lights that's in my inventory.

Now, the second one was a used light - but still in great shape.

Curious why. Aren't you a single op? Are you doing gigantic events? One acrobat can handle most events us mobile guys do.
