Looking at the back of your Mixer I believe that the Left Send is a Mono out. Try it and see. To test, play a song and while it is playing manually disconnect one of the input channel cables and listen if sound still comes out. Then reconnect that channel cable and take out the other one, if the music still comes out then it is mono.

Many times, only 1 speaker is needed in the foyer (zone)
I do like that last idea...I will do that.
I have no desire to lug/setup more stuff (addit. mixers, Etc)

Question: How can you tell that the Left is also a mono output?

Because your Mixer also has a PA function. When you see Return, Send, Aux Out on gear those are PA functions. I also just looked at your Owners Manual. It is indeed a Mono out on Left only. IT IS SPECIALLY WIRED INTERNALLY. Read page 7 Connections #11:triwink:
BTW you will need a I/4" connector on that cable from Send (going to your Powered Speaker).
 
even my CDMix2 Numark has the left mono channel option as did my tiny little 2 channel behringer. I was guessing that this upper level Pioneer mixer woulod have the same option disallowing any need for a mono switch.

I never thought to run the "send" to a powered speaker.

You are welcome, we are here to share and learn from each other. Don't let my bluntness get to you, thats just the way I am. Anyone can be ignorant in doing something they don't know. Even I learn something every day too. When they do know better and still do the wrong thing then that turns to stupidity.

Either one of those cables would do just fine. The TRS is balanced but the other end also has to be balanced as well. TRS is highly recommended for long cable runs.

I like the Prosound Board. Those guys know their stuff and I have had a few questions answered for me. I was also able to give a few suggestions. That is the Forum I am using for anything that is Live Sound related.
How did I leave the door wide open for this?
