I have one coming tomorrow... I'm a little sceptical, but Ben's crew recommended it, and they have always done great by me...

Any opinions?

I'll give you mine later in the week, and maybe even a video.

I've never seen one,,,, but in my little mind, I don't see how it could be bright enough in a room.... I mean sure it would "strobe" but will it be the effect ya want...

It'll be cool to see what ya got...

I own Chauvet Color Palets. While not a strobe they are constructed very similar. At leat if you are talking about a Techostrobe.

They do a very nice job and have a strobe function, while neat not nearly effective as a traditional 800 watt strobe.

As much as I like the LED concept (being somewhat of a tree-hugger), there's too many things to go wrong.

Every one of the little guys, has to be hooked onto the board -- whether soldered, or whatever.

Exponential increase in possible failure! :sqerr:

IMHO, I'd say thumbs up on a permanent install -- but go with a single bulb unit for mobile gigs...

I was under the assumption, you could lose a led and the rest would still work..... ????

If wired correctly, they should...

Problem is, let's say you have a 100 (just a round number). Over a couple moves, you lose 10 -- that's 10% of yer output...

With one bulb -- you carry one spare :)

The fixture will still work even if you do loose one... Although The LEDs will most likely be the last to die... I'm sure the future enclosure will be damages, or a cap or something like that will blow before the LEDs burn out...

Bah, the new lihght came today, and I think it is DOA. Dip switches 1 -8 are the different speeds. 9 and 10 are sound and Full ON... I tried a ton of combinations and no lights came on, including two little lights in the back.

I might be DMX stupid, but I have always been able to run lights in auto or sound mode....

This sucks...

Im sure you can figure it out...
I do have faith in Papa...

I figure it is DOA...

I have 4 DMX lights that I run in stand alone mode... can't get this one to work.

You may have already tried this ... but, normally in sound active mode all dips are off except for 10 and then you need sound in order for it to work.... I'm sure you already thought of that but just in case.... which model is it... I'll look at the manual... since you youngin's seem to skip that part these days.:sqwink:

Yup.... if ya leave all of the dips off except 10... it should run through all of it's programs sequicially.... and all you should have to do is supply sound and adjust the sensitivity knob.....

Max that knob out and put on some hip-hop.... with some bangin' bass and see what ya get.
