My birthday is this coming Sunday. I'll be 55! I got a phone call from the bar manager in Orange, NJ. He wanted to know if I was available to play in the bar on Friday and Saturday. I told him I could do it on Friday but Saturday I couldn't because Saturday I'm having my birthday party at Cafe Z @ 2333 Morris Ave. Union, NJ. It's a restaurant/bar. Small but nice place. I didn't want a place too big. I kind of hate I didn't know much earlier that they would need a DJ for this Saturday at the bar in Orange because I could have had my party there and get paid at the same time as I would be the DJ.

I already had postcards made up about the party so it will be in Union. Me and my 2 partners are going to play the music. I'm hoping for a nice size crowd will come to my party. It should be a lot of fun. Too bad this place doesn't have equipment already in the place. So that will mean I've got to bring my gear and lights as the room in the back is very dark.

Now after I finish playing in the bar on Friday I've got to load the gear back up and put it back in the basement. Then get a few hours sleep and get up to go to the credit union for the job where I used to work to make a payment on my loan and make payment arrangements for the rest. Then come home to get ready to be at a meeting 2pm. After that pick up both my partners to get the equipment to my birthday party. Do the party and after that get home and unload the gear. Then drop both of them off. What I was thinking of doing was after leaving the credit union to go look for a new outfit to wear for my party. I'm not sure if I'll do that or not. So I have a busy weekend coming up.

I'll be playing in the bar on Friday from 9pm-1:30am. My party on Saturday is from 8pm-2am. So that's why I said I'll probably sleep all day on my birthday this Sunday.

How much are you charging the guest to come to your birthday party?

I was thinking the opposite -- what's he paying the folks to come to his party... :-/

Heck, I think I only had one birthday party in my life -- which is when I was about 12...

I normally give myself a birthday party ever year and Soft it's no wonder you've only had 1 birthday party in your lifetime. With the way you feel about life how many people do you think would show up to your birthday party? One person I would guess. Just you.:p

Birthdays just mean yer getting older -- why celebrate getting older...?

It's not all about YOU Mix, although you seem to think so. If you throw a party, it should be for some other reason than yourself...

Soft sometimes it is all about me. I can't speak for you but I can speak for me. I thank God to still be here. So I'm going to celebrate my ass off! You might be on the pitty pot wanting to have a pitty party but me I'm having a birthday party.

You should seek therapy. Maybe it might help you not be so bitter with life? Ask yourself this question. Why do you have such a negative spirit?

You know what I say to people that always complain? I say if it's that bad then commit suicide. They say it's not that bad. Then I say to them shut the F up!

You crack me up Mix...

I'll tell you what -- c'mon up to The Farm, and I'll put you to work for a few weeks. You can start by scraping the plaster/asbestos mix off the walls, rebuilding the 12x12 well cover, cutting 4 acres of knee high grass, putting hinges on the shed doors, and simple stuff like that.

Then we'll get to the hard sh_t like the roof.

Of course, you need to get up at 5:30 every morning, feed all the animals, chase the coyote's off with a gun.

I have no problem with life -- it's just some years are harder than others.

Go celebrate your birthday -- I have to fix the roof hatch.

If you want to have people in your life then celebrate it and invite others to share it.
...Not sure why that concept is lost on you Rick?

People will treat you no better than you treat yourself.

Who said I wanted to have people in my life...?

You don't get it do you? It's not that you don't want people in your life. It's that people don't want to be a part of your life. Reason being again is you have a negative attitude towards life in general. Everybody has a bad day sometimes. But not every day is bad. I had a tough weekend this past weekend dealing with a female but I won't still be stuck on that issue 5 years from now. It doesn't feel good right now but eventually I'll heal and things will get better.

I learned if I want people to be around me I need to stop complaining all the time. Now please tell us 1 good thing that has happened to you within the last month besides waking up and I'll give you at least 5 things that have happened to me. My point being focus in on what is positive and not always on the negative. At least that's what it appears to me and I'm sure to others on here as well.

You did... and continue to do so with every post.
Hey Pro something else I just thought of. He said some years are better then others. That's sad he thinks that way. So he looks at a whole entire year as being bad. No wonder he doesn't have many friends if any at all. With that attitude who would want to be around him. I say only people who think the same way he does. So they can both be miserable together and compare which one is having a more miserable year.

gee can you afford all them party pies!!

Mix,

I deal with people every day on the phone, email, at the stores, etc.

When I'm home, I like to kick back and relax by myself, and with the animals who frequent the place. Does it make me a bad fellow, because I no longer enjoy social interaction on a regular basis?

I don't have to be positive all the time. In order to have good, you also need to have bad.

And BTW, the last good thing that happened, was I found a nice lemon pepper rotisserie chicken at the store this morning, along with some tilapia filets, which I will cook this evening :)
