$150 is cheap. When I was laid off a number of years ago and Cobra ran out, it was costing me $1350 per month to cover me, my wife and son. And that was relatively basic coverage. Dropping to catastrophic coverage (a deductible > $2000 .. essentially paying for all normal care) would have been $850.
Steve this was life insurance and not health insurance. He had health insurance but not life insurance.

Rick I saw you posted you can't get insurance. I'm not asking this to be funny. Is it due to either how much it would cost you or because you have so many illnesses that you can't get any one to give you insurance?

Too expensive. At my age, it would cost $7-10,000 per year.

I have neither -- don't have life, because I have nobody to leave it to.

Most people at age 80 don't need life insurance. Life insurance is to protect those you directly support in case you go. I would hope by age 80 that the kids are out of the house and SS and pensions/retirement and such provide for the rest.

Life insurance is generally not a great investment option.

With pre-existing conditions, it's nearly impossible to get health care coverage unless your state has a pool system (CT had one, but it's now closed to new members), or you qualify for medicare. I was looking at some self insurance a while back and though I don't have a pre-existing condition, my cholesterol level was high (250 if I recall) and even though I wasn't on or even recommended to go on medication, no one would bite (since the doctor visit was on my record) and the cheapest coverage I could find would have cost almost 15K per year.

I'm not a fan of Obamacare, but having a pool one could buy into would have helped at that point.

I dont have Life Insurance either - who cares not me
