Actually, very few people would know the Dynacord name at a party!

But thanks for guessing:sqlaugh:

That is like saying the most popular speaker is Guass!

JBL is more than likely the best know household speaker name simply because of the Huge number of computer and surround sound TV speakers sold by them, followed by EV for the same reason, Bose has a very small market share of the Home sound system much like it's PA market share. But I am talking about PA gear.

I think in ten gigs nobody would know until they asked due to the fact its the greatest sounding speaker in the world next to Rons sticks of course.:sqwink:

Trust me Ron is not a man who could only stand behind his speakers LOL. his mouth would stand out even beyond the Dynacord systems. LOL ya BHB.

Well I do not want to put down anyone especially Ron for his belief and convictions. He takes a stand on an issue and so do I and I am sure others do the same. He takes his craft seriously otherwise he would not invest so heavily in it. This battle of words will only stir up more dust than a vacuum cleaner can suck up!

Actually I think it is good that we have diversification of equipment owners among the ranks. The ones who have an interest in lets say EVs will know where to go for help, the ones interested in Bose know who to call etc. If we all on ODJT had the same brand of equipment, then there won't be much argument except for those who will claim their Series is better/newer/more advance than the others.

As can be seen by the Major consensus, the most important thing that should be a DJs worry is if his system is the best it can be for what he has and that it sounds good. One can always go from a Ford Focus to a Lexus to a Rolls Royce but in reality they all do the same damn thing, namely transport you from one place to another. I have also seen many a Mercedes on the highway disabled with smoke spewing out from under the hood while others in beat up cars much older go whizzing past. So there. Lets not beat up on each other. That does not mean to say we can't poke fun at each other from time to time, eh? Handshake to Ron, lets close this thread. Its purpose has been served.

come on Canute I want to hear more about how Rons is the best cause he knows all. BHB needs more Peach Crate time the Gods from the mountain are restless and the tablets need to be read.

Thunder,
Most folks on this board are too young to know the name Gauss Speaker!(You misspell it).:sqerr: Those were the good old days of the brute force power houses. A Gauss speaker in a cabinet was a force to behold. Pity they stopped making them.:sqfrown:

Ron,

I don't think I saw anyone here say that Bose is junk
I don't believe I accused anyone here of calling them junk? I've only stated my opinions on the Bose L1's.

The most recognized PA system to the general public is not the issue. The familiarity of the Bose name in relation to the general publics personal use is. As many of you have stated people don't care about PA systems. They do however love their home Bose audio. Those who can afford it that is.:sqwink:

Handshake to run, lets close this thread. Its purpose has been served.
OH no, I haven't even begun to make fun of Jon yet.:sqwink:

Well it's not JBL or Mackie that's for sure....

If I had to guess what is the most well know PA system to the "General Public"

I'd say Peavey and a close second Yamaha.

You indeed are correct sir! Give that man a cigar!

Peavey is the most reconized name in PA gear, the reason is that it is the highest selling system for DJ's and small bands and yes Yamaha is a distant second. But that is slowly changing with JBL closing in the last 10 years because of the lower end gear that they started releasing to the market.

LOL y'all are nuts and I luv all y'all! :sqlaugh:

See that's what has got Ron going... it's those back handed compliments like "for what it is."

All I can say is that this sort of pisses me off too.

Rob,
Its better to be pissed off than pissed on! :sqlaugh: No freakiness in this room! The bizarre and freak room is down the hall!

I didn't misspell it my fingers simply got ahead of my brain, I had a set of 15" gauss speakers at one time but they went the way of the dodo bird when it came to to recone them :sqwink: way to expensive.

Jon,
It's obvious I don't know all, I only know Bose. I do know I'm using the best around for what my intended use is. And since Bose L1's offer so much I don't see myself finding anything comparable anytime to soon. But that's just me, what do I know.

Hey Ron,
Don't worry buddy! There is medication for that feeling! The only problem is that it has not yet been approved for human use! :sqlaugh: They are still testing it on the Mountain! LOLOLOLOL

And why do they call it the Mountain? Because it rises above the rest.:sqwink::sqlaugh:

its like a kid who thinks milk is the only form of food and then tastes a candy bar. Ron in your world it has proven the best. There is Line Array stuff out there that would make those sticks into twigs, the BOSE name assists in your opinion. Those of us who have used the L1 know what its capable of and it doesnt do all I needed a system to do without setting up 4 subs per side. I think all Bose O's should wear kilts rather than opt for Rubens pants less club.

Rob,

The comment wasn't back handed the Bose system is great for what it is, it is pretty, it is small, it fits into the decor. It has a decent sound at a very low output, for certain venues, and events it is the perfect system.

I have had and tested the Bose L1 and had a sound level meter in my hand and I know what it is capable of in SPL while 110 DB isn't bad it certainly isn't 120 DB or higher! I have never heard the B1's so I certainly can't comment on their output but the laws of physics are still in effect in our world and a 6" sub (and I don't care how many you use) simply doesn't have the ability to reproduce the frequencies that an 18" sub will produce. I am using EV ZX1's as studio mains with a 10" sub and while they sound great for studio use I certainly wouldn't put them in a bar for a PA system.

All speakers have their niche and will excel in that niche the Bose L1 is no exception!

You and Ron and a few others have found that the Bose system excels for you and i certainly won't try and take that away from you.

For me it was a matter of cost V performance and the L1 simply didn't work for me in my intended applications.

Just as I wouldn't bring a six cabinet Versarray system to a small wedding I wouldn't bring any number of Bose sticks to a small concert!

Ron

Im glad you found this LOL.:sqwink:

SPL means squat.... I can get a cheap azz car stereo do that... doesn't mean it sounds good.

Give me a break.... SPL is only a small and very insignificant factor in relation to good sound. Extreme SPL's are nether required nor in most cases desired for most Large events outside of the Club or Concert arena.

I like Ron am tired of this silly argument.... Bose does a great job in many kinds of events. It is not necessary to have the loudest and biggest thing to get the job done well....

Take for instance Dynacord.... certainly not Bose but, it gets the job done very well in a small footprint and in that respect they are alot like Bose. Yet you don't hear folks yippin' about how they do a good job for what they are.

of course with due respect I must

show the difference in apples and oranges so to speak so as not to offend the Bose O's
Here I show the difference. The Golden Egg and the Dynacord .
