What would cause this

When I press the apostriphy key on one of my laptops it comes up E. I jus reinstalled Windows on a new hard drive in the machine.

Is there any way to fix this aside frominstalling Windows again?

Is it a straight away E or an odd looking E?
Also, what program does this happen in?
Sometimes when you get an odd looking E it means that the program cannot correctly interpret the keystroke.

Jeff, it could be the numbers lock is on. Hold down the function then numbers lock and it should go away.

Sounds like you have an issue with your keymap. No need to reinstall Windows, just select the correct one.

It's a normal e for the apostrphy and a E for the quote marks.It happens in all programs and forums

Jeff reboot and it will go away. it is a keystroke isssue. I have to reboot and it goes away
