Hello Friends,

I also just got my Blisslight 15 in last week that I ordered from the fine folks at Blisslight and NLFX at Mobile Beat. I got to use it at a Middle School dance on Thursday and will be posting some video of that gig also. I am going to use the Blisslight 15 at a wedding this Saturday in an Embassy Suites ballroom so I will definitely post some video in a larger venue.

Hope you enjoy and thanks for watching!!!

Me thinking... another easy up sell for 100.00...

I think the product is very cool.

I also don't think any of the rooms I ever work in would be dark enough to use it.

Can anyone chime in on how it works when the room isn't very dark?

I guess you also have to mount it high in the air so the light and stars don't get blocked.

It has to be very dark for a good effect, low to mid high ceilings work best, and would say yes, if you have high ceilings, find a way to lift the light really high.

It's not a light for everyone and everywhere, I would say one has to be sure of the venue first before offering the light to properly get the effect out of it.

This unit is exceptional but if I were to fork over money I would prefer WHITE stars versus green. the clouds are amazing.

If I'm not mistaken, the only economical laser colors are red and green. To acheive white, you would have to have three separate lasers;

1-green
1-red
1-blue

That would make the unit at least 3 times more expensive.

Thanks for the clarification Keith and then so this is why I will wait to purchase when the more expensive and complete package is available. True white stars and those clouds priceless!!

Experienced user review, remembering regional considerations, performance styles, and sales abilities many vary as widely and wildly as your vehicles mileage.

Having purchased two Bliss 15's at the Atlantic City Convention 2007 at the "show special" price of $1,000 each, the excitement abounded at having something so new and radical in comparison to what was being used in my market.

Why two? The Bliss 50 brags about twice as many stars for what was then a "show special" price of $2,500. Read the specs. The 50 laser does throw twice the stars however the lens, the nebula, and the coverage area are identical to the 15. Do the math. Two 15s @ $1K each give you twice the stars too...and twice the nebula...and twice the coverage...and $500 less than the single 50.

Unfortunately, these lights are emotionally like fireworks. About 15 minutes of oooohs and aaaaahs, then the effect become ho-hum and is lost in everything else going on. The next time the effect is truly appreciated is when it's turned off and the room ambiance becomes ordinary again.

If contemplating using them at weddings, be forewarned. The video and photo people may hate you, especially during major formal dances such as the first dance, parent dances, cake cutting, etc. Having their shots riddled with nickel sized green moving laser beams does not make for a good album or video.

While many a bride likes the effect, most are unwilling to part with the extra fee up front. Any success at an upsell here has been 90 days before the event, not at contracting stage.

Why are they in a blue housing? Every other lighting fixture in the world is chrome or black. Nope. They gotta be candy blue metallic. Painted mine flat black.

In closing, here's the value I've placed on the worth and potential r.o.i. of these effects.

For sale. Two Bliss 15's $800/each or both for $1,500.00.

I think the newer models are in fact black Cap. also If your photographers have proper cam gear they wont concern themselves with any effect you might throw as they have proper gear too. dont trust my word but that of a couple professional photogs I roll with.

Jon : Glad they are now black. As my review stated, they were purchased in 2007.

Must be Canadian shooters has better "stuff" then my area. I haven't seen a filter that removes laser beams from white gowns. Yes, Photoshop will help but the extra DJ induced effort in retouching a couple hundred shots may not be in the best interest of future referrals.

How long have you been using yours? What feedback did you get directly from your shooters? What filter set or lens set did they use to eliminate the effect from their pictures?

aha ya got me Mr C I dont own one but my effects have been bad mouthed by lesser photogs but marveled and relished by those who know their craft. Sorry if I am ignorant to the craft.

Jon : To say that every shooter you'll ever work with has the time, talent, money, expertise, and equipment to photographically and film makingly (is that a real word?) rectify any and all lighting effects for a typical wedding shoot is a career referral gamble some are not willing to take. That'll be me and I can't help but believe the extra caution and concern for other team members has had a marked effect on successful business longevity.

Argggh. More mobile DJ "gotta have it first", white elephant, desk top, paper weights.

Ah yes....Cap.

But I think we came to your aid with a shot of Swedish water after you plunked down your cash....;)

I too do NOT have my Bliss on during the formal dances, events at a reception. The photogs I've worked with appreciate it.

BTW - cool video - What version was the opening number (almost sounded like a Isao Tomita rendition...)?

Cheers,

Joe
