I have a potential reception and bride wants uplighting, but she said she would want a pale pink. Most LEDS can can do a hot pink of fuchsia.
Other colors like gold, or baby blue can be tough.

Has anyone played with gels on RGB LED cans to get some of these tough colors? Like putting a pink gel on a full 100% on RGB can.

Mike,
I think that putting the Gel on will suck up a lot of the leds output. Here are some settings for the different colors:

You can play with the numbers listed and see if you like how they show.

Thanks, I was thinking the gel might not be very nice with LEDS, I will try some of the color chart setting, but with the Chauvet Rain cans you only have 2 switches per color, so no fine settings. I also really need to do this free standing not DMX because apparently she is a big see no wires type. Which is one reason they contacted me in the first place, they saw my sound setup and like how no wires were in sight. One other problem I am going to run into with wires, they are using 1/2 of a ballroom with a divider, plenty of outlets on the walls, but not on the divider wall, so I will probably go measure the needed lengths and make up some low current power cords out out some gold speaker wire, since the carpet is gold.

My Jamstars will let you hook up your controller, set the color and then unhook it and they stay that color. You might give it a try.

Thanks,
That might work, seems like I did notice that they did this, I just need a small DMX controller to move around the room and set the colors, or a very long cable to drag around the room. :sqerr:

You could just set up a small DMX controller and daisy chain the LEDs and have full control over them the whole time.

Mike

Yeah that could be done, but as I mentioned above, this bride HATES seeing wires, and it is a large room with 18 cans to be setup. I mentioned that pale pink might be tricky and I might need to run a wire between each can, and she said, there would be no way to hide all that wire, so hopefully the connect and disconnect method works or I can get close enough with the switches.

I tried one of the pale pink settings with just dipswitches on one of my Rain 56 can, much better than I thought it would be but could see a little blue halo around the edges, cut back the blue a little and it looked much better, should be fine.
