Bob, you clearly make assertions that many on this board are somehow dishonest or attempting to pull the wool over clients' eyes. Try to play word games if you wish but sorry, it's easy to see through and everyone knows it. Married 5 times, eh? Makes sense now.
Again - thank you for offering to define my motivations for me but, I will defer to my own sources.
Did you not already tell us that the intention of your blog is to sway prospects over to your way of thinking? Sales by it's very nature is prone to overstatements and exaggerations that while not dishonest - evoke a
wolf in sheep's clothing perception of the salesman if the prospect recognizes them as over reaching claims, or exaggerated importance.
With regard to overstating things: The weakest part of your article is
not what you say you do it's the way you
devalue the customer's ability and input. You have embedded the message that you know what's best for them - and even if true - it doesn't work.
You've twice now just tried to tell me what I think and what my intentions are.
I'm trying to tell you - that tendency is also present in the blog you wrote to your prospects. If you recall, your first draft actually started with an expectation of being flamed by other DJs. Where did that expectation come from? Why was squashing DJ dissent so important that you made it the opening paragraph in an article presumably written for
your brides and not other DJs? Who is it you are writing too? I'm suggesting that tendency extends beyond just the omitted paragraph.
Try writing that same article and make the same points as though you were speaking to your boss - (putting the customer in control) and while it will feel
wrong - I bet it will end up with more readers and a wider popular response.
