Denon DJ MCX-8000 controller announced

The 8000 is a sharp looking unit and looks to be well built but as R R mentioned, Denon's software implementation will make or break it.

I also like the xlr's on the booth out.
Looking forward to hearing some real world experiences.

Chuck it's Teeeeeefffffffffff!!!!!!!!!!!! :D :D :D

I'd like to know what's the big deal besides you don't need a computer to work it. What else can it do that would make it worth buying?

If your computer breaks down, you can use your pre-formatted USB drives. That's pretty much like the DN-HD2500 if you think about it without the hard drive being built in. I have the Pioneer DDJ-SZ and DDJ-SX, but the USB feature and the XLR booth outputs are VERY attractive to me. Too bad that I don't have the budget to buy a new controller yet.

Although it doesn't mention it in the review, according to one commenter, there is no flac support. :(

I have come to find that the mirrored layout of the MCX8000 is dissuading me from getting this controller. Hmm.

I'm waiting for portable controller with 2 sound cards, able to run traktor and vdj under $ 500.00. Anything else is just waste of money for my business.

If it could do all of that at $1000 or $1500, it would be a waste of money for your business?

Not sure of any devices with 2 soundcards .. maybe 4 channels through the same soundcard. My Rane MP4 allows 2 stereo mixes to be brought in over a single USB .. my MP25 allows 5 stereo mixes and 6 stereo sends. There are some higher end mixers that have dual USB connections (which gives them 2 soundcards), but I think you'd be over $1500 just for the mixer part.

Most can run Traktor and VDJ .. the Denon MC6000 can and gets close at $599 (that's what I paid last August). Add on a Behringer soundcard for $30 and you're at $630.

For typical DJ work, they have most of what people want .. and they are relatively compact AND can be racked.

There are other decent controllers .. the Denon just hits a lot of check boxes and doesn't have too many deficiencies (at least at this price point).

The Pioneer DDJ-SZ has two soundcards, but I have never used them with two different programs. Always Serato DJ on both laptops. Now I am curious to see if I can use Serato DJ on one, and Virtual DJ on the other. I will test it out if I can this weekend.

Anzyxx will have to stretch his budget A-L-O-T farther for the DDJ-SZ .. though it is an excellent piece of kit.

The Mc6000 seems to be one of the popular controllers for the mobile DJ's .
