I would think a die hard Christian wouldn't want be a dj to begin with. All the bumping and gyrating we cause on the dance floor couldn't be christian like either. Alcohol at a majority of events and other stuff they wouldn't approve of. Not to mention the music most crowds would want played wouldn't be christian like. Goes back to me saying that christian dj's should advertise themselves as such or just hang up the headphones.
There are no religious objections to DJing that I am aware of (and forgive me for I haven't been up on Christian religious teaching since CYO back in the 70s
Doesn't put ME at risk .. But it doesn't have to put anyone else either if they can decide which opportunities to do. And it's not what they are uncomfortable with, in this case it was what their religious doctrine allows them to do. I mean I wouldn't expect a DJ who is Jewish to play on a Saturday if they were observant. Doesn't mean they can't DJ .. just not on Saturday.I just meant if being a dj will put you at risk of being exposed to many different things that a christian would feel uncomfortable around, why even be a dj.
Sound reinforcement in churches is big and would be right up that persons alley. They get to still play with electronic gadgets while recieving the good word at the same time, win win.
Leave the dj'ing to us sinners.
I don't consider myself a Christian, as I haven't been active in 30 years, but I respect religious doctrine for those so inclined. Personally, I don't care, but that individual did. A photographer is also different from a DJ in that it is their job to capture the "loving, touching, squeezing" (as Journey might say) intimate components of a ceremony. If I had a problem with that, I would think I would decline it as well.I am a Christian. Jesus taught tolerance. I'm happy to do gay/lesbian weddings. I sell a service, I do not sell my morals, they apply only to me.
Best,
Paul
I would not DJ a KKK rally, nor a Communist Party gathering for personal reasons ..
Crap, so now I have to throw away my white sheets and pointed hats??? Dammit
Seriously, buying an island is starting to look a lot more interesting.
I've met some in Texas, not your typical radicals and they basically keep to themselves. I don't know if I looked different they would've reacted the same way but that's something I'll never know.
Yes, but my bunker is pretty well protectedHell, yer in Mexico City now -- that's as safe as Amsterdam... xf![]()
The problem is rules are being changed ... A catholic hospital which ran under catholic rules for decades if not longer, now has to provide something (contraception or abortion) that is against church policy and isn't a job of the hospital in the first place.
A judge ruling that photography or DJing is an "essential service" and is bound by law is absurd.

I am an Israelite
