Can I please get suggestions on what analog DMX light controller I should buy?

Why not label it???

And yes I could have fixed it, you likely damaged the power supply it’s a pretty simple fix with a soldering iron and a little skill, did you check to see if there was simply a fuse you can replace
No I didn't because I'm not a repair man. For me that's why people book a DJ. They don't know how to DJ. So that's why they look to get somebody they feel will get the job done. The thing is hopefully who they get to do the event will do a good job that leaves the client satisfied.

I was asked to show pictures of the cords I bought. I will take pictures and post them when I get home. I know a little something about DJing. I don't know anything about repairing electronics. LOL.

Let me add something so I don't make another thread. I have a 5 CD copier tower that I was considering selling. I will post some pictures of the unit when I get home. I bought it at the time to make copies of CD'S. I rarely make CD'S anymore and was thinking of selling it. I still get requests for some CD'S I've made sometimes. Not often but I do. I rarely use it anymore. Occasionally I do but not enough to justify keeping it. If I were to keep it that's just to remind me of the time when I lost the business due to my addiction.

I decided to check online and see what others are selling theirs for.

So far you have spent about $1000 for a 10 year old controller that was worth about $700 new...I need to have that kind of money to splurge

Jeff they had one on Reverb for $280 with $35 shipping. The problem for me is I didn't see a way to talk to someone over the phone about the controller. The price was negotiable. I got that one coming. For a decent one that every thing works, that's the price they want. Anything below that price you're taking a real chance. Some have for more than $350 and it says for parts. That's crazy to me. I saw one on Ebay and they wanted $888. Another one for $1,200. I just have to wait and see how this one is.

That's your opinion about the fix costing $100. Are you a repair man? Now so you know. I had several power cords in the same place and I couldn't remember which cord to use with the controller. As I said from now on I will remember to put the cord in a specific place all the time from now on so I don't make that mistake again.
Wait how
I think it's more your want than theirs especially in a small area. I am in the same boat I backed up a lot the last few years but I could still be playing a wedding every weekend in the summer months if I chose to. I pick and choose a lot these days. Any sign of a headache and I tell them I'm booked
you pretty much nailed it when I do the math on a wedding event now I would typically have around 20 hours invested with prep work pre event meeting plus day of , I’ve been working my way out with pricing, I have a $2500 minimum I figure that next me $100 an hour gross plus overhead costs. My other ventures are more profitable and less time consuming than this, and I just don’t enjoy it like I used to

Did you check if the unit has an internal fuse that has blown?

As much as he’s spent on old used busted ass controllers, he could’ve purchased a new unit with a warranty.

Hustling Backwards at its finest.
Well he doest want to give up his out of production for years Denon Controller not matter what he says it’s because he has a hard time learning something new. While I too am a huge fan of that controller, once they stop making and supporting it. It’s time to move on
