School & Teen Events Any thoughts on these? I found another potential speaker system for me.

I'm looking at 14.6k per side just for speakers.

Boom doesnt even own that stuff its all rented. i looked into how much it would cost to rent and have it all done just like boom and at max it costs 15,000 for one of their setups. Mr. Neuhauser pockets 15000 to 30000 per gig. i think its rediculous.
All I have to say is that Boom is a Smart if not successful businessman. I don't begrudge him at all. Pay close attention, you may learn something from him. I am sure lowering standards and Event fees won't be any of them.

I don't see anywhere in that page where it lists all the components included in the price... which leads me to believe that the price is for 1 element only.

Nope. Graduated 2 years ago, but LTHS is and was a boom school for 3 of my 4 years, and it was cool the first year and then it got old

So, while I'm not trying to give you grief... but, where in the world does a 20 something come up with the capital necessary for a rig such as you describe...?

Meaning what? i Clearly dont have said rig. otherwise i wouldnt be posting here. and i didnt say i had the capitol to purchase such a rig. and now that i look you may be right about the one element. that image they are all using seems to be from the qsc website whish showcases the entire line of products. I clearly dont have the capitol for any of this hence why i am looking for an inexpensive setup to start with.

So i should attempt to learn something from someone who charges an outrageous amount while hiring an incompetent staff who dont know the equipment properly enough to make it sound right. who brings explicit music and leaves their clients dissatisfied yet stuck in a contract that they wish they could get out of.... yeah that somehow doesnt sound appealing to me...

That's what I thought. What I mean and let me be perfectly clear here...

You said you are just two years out of High School... that makes you somewhere between 19-21ish.

So, unless you have a rich daddy or recently won the lottery a kid your age doesn't have the working capital to purchase a rig like that...

Now I could be wrong but I doubt it.

No i agree. i dont have the money to afford a huge rig ecpecially since its $1600 per piece not including amps and subs etc etc.

What kind of budget are you working on and what do you have now you could use?. Knowing that we might be able to make some suggestions

Well to my advantage, my uncle has quite a bit of custom built speakers he lets me borrow for free until i get the money to buy real stuff.

The whole point of the matter is that i cannot score any school gigs in my area because boom has ALL of them! AND they are ALL locked into 5 7 or 10 year contracts. it makes it extremely tough to find any money. the only thing i have been able to do is a few dance club type events thrown at the gym in the lockport rec center which brings very little income, but alot of good practice. a few parties here and there but that is about it...

grade schools dont do dances in my area. like at all!

I meant market as in Club, Wedding, Karaoke... or really any other profitable market outside of schools... I mean you're basically still wet behind the ears... no way a schools going to consider a relatively newcomer over a long standing known company.

But how does one start in the school industry? boom had to start somewhere no? Karaoke has never been my thingy, but weddings for sure. I kinda had another idea to make money in the meantime... but ill post that in a new thread as to not take this one off topic further than it already is. lol

by doing their Sweet 16's, Graduation parties, small dances like home comings etc

That was actually a typo it a 4 million dollar policy and a pay about $600 a year from GA Mavon
So pray tell us...how much cash do you now have available to buy gear?
