I'm not a fan of scrolling. When I open it up I see a very plain-looking text with your contact info (top-left), a menu bar (towards the bottom) and a pic of some flowers and a hand with a ring on it. Took me a minute to realize I had to scroll down. I think you'll lose a lot of eyes. Hope this helps.

The content looks fine, the only comment would be the header (your name/info plus the hand/bouquet picture) take up too much room and you almost have to scroll to see the content below. If possible, slide the hand/bouquet to the right, stretch the grey suit material (or fill in grey) on the left and drop your name/contact info into that box (probably in white/silver against the dark suit).

I think it looks pretty decent Patrick.

Not exactly sure what some folks have against scrolling -- I guess they're using iPhones or something... :triconfused:

I guess I'd probably make the text a little darker color for contrast, and I'd lose the gmail email, and just use one you create on your site. I get very nervous when I deal with people using freebie emails like gmail, hotmail, etc... It might be fine for regular people, but not good for a business entity.

Patrick,
My only comment with a suggestion is; Thats a whole lot of reading, a lot of people may not spend the time to read every paragraph as there are a lot of redundancies.
Suggestion: Get a (Technical) writer to condense it for you. Key points to attract would be clients are much better than descriptions and explanations. As others have stated get a domain e-mail address for the business.

Ditch the in house pictures and use pictures from photographers you worked with. They get exposure and you get consistently great pics. And not possibly confuse your potential clients that you still do photography.

I say get more pictures and lose the hand written notes on the testimonial page. Everybody may not be able to read the persons hand writing. Just put it in a text what they wrote so all will know what was said. That to me also looks tacky and grammer schoolish. I just wan't impressed with wanting to read them.

I love hand written notes as compared to made up text of what was supposedly a thank you message. Pictures of hand written notes show originality and convey a more believable response from skeptical potential clients.

One can always superimpose a line or 2 (the meat) over the handwritten note image if desired.

Really Mix Im trying to figure how to gain around 50 more events for next year. What would you suggest? Im hoping we can book half of those at our Platinum Rate of 1600 or more. Any expert thoughts? WOW~~!!!!

I also second a wordpress website, also you might want to get away from the shared hosting plan on godaddy. It affects website load times with can benefit your analytics (lower BR, more page views). Your website is a simple layout, but that is all it is to me. I feel it is lacking something, whether it is the color layout or content. I would love to see the analytics of your testimonial page, I doubt visitors would stay on that page long. How would anybody know those reviews are trustworthy? If you don't want to go the scanned letter route, then atleast post a thumbnail photo of the couple, or a link to their photo gallery/video/blog post of the event. Does your company have a logo? If so you might want that towards the top for branding. Also, having high quality images from photographers will do wonders to your site. Try to get a personalized email for your company (it is very simple with your host), [email protected]. This will help give more credibility to your sight when visitors inquire. Remember what you're brides are thinking... perception is reality.

Actually Robert, almost every bride we have booked this year has mentioned the testimonial page as a contributing factor in their decision.

And last year, I did a little "internal study" from our past clients (200 emails went out and 187 were responded to by the clients) asking about the email thing....because I heard that all the time on this board and others. Every single one of them said they did not even notice it was a gmail email address....and to quote one of the emails returned:

"that is the dumbest thing I have ever heard.....do you DJs really think clients are that concerned with where your email is from."

Sorry guys, but this is another one of those things where you put way to much thought into something that is extremely simple.

I am, however, still gathering pictures from photographers we have worked with in the past to redo the pics.
