It is the year 2012 last I checked. If you are running a meaningful business, you will have an internet domain. It is a complete tax write off (thereby saving you money), and gives customers a degree of confidence that you are not a fly by night operation. It also gives them confidence, that you at least know how to operate a computer with some degree of competence. Anybody that can't setup a Pop3 account, shouldn't be trusted using a computer to DJ.
I guess some can actually plug their computer into a power outlet, and hit the Sync button in VDJ -- but that's not who I would hire. I check out the people I hire, to make sure they are a viable business, and know what they're doing.
It's all about perception and branding IMHO.
