I'm with ya on storing gear inside. All mine is normally kept in the minivan (although I often have one or the other system setup with a speaker in my office to practice). As for keeping it simple... I think I've simplified this Large System about as much as I can without making it a near copy of my Small System. And though I like the simplicity of my Small System, I'm seriously thinking about adding a 1U mixer to it (replacing the 1U drawer).[emoji1] I'm just still not sure which mixer to buy. The Small System will still only have one computer, so no DMX control of my lights, but I generally use it without lights anyway. The biggest down side to having the mixer (in the rack) is I don't keep a spare, so if it fails, there's NO audio at all. Even if I had a spare mixer, it would not be practical to swap it out during a performance, so my backup plan is to simply move the outputs from the rear patch panel and plug them directly into the back of the controller... That's about a 10 second (or less) job.[emoji4]
As for not having to deploy a backup in 30 years, that's pretty remarkable![emoji4] I've only been DJ'ing for less than 4 years, and have not needed to use a backup of anything YET (knock on wooden head[emoji1]) either, but I think Murphy has a law for that; the less prepared you are (with backup gear), the more likely you are to (have a failure and) need it.[emoji1]

The latches are on the back side of the Facade, so they won't be easily seen, but when painted black, they'll be even less conspicuous.
I'll take a picture of the case tomorrow before I begin. I may use screws to secure the braces, but won't use 3/4" plywood...maybe oak or some other hard wood.
But it's CLOSE... VERY close. I painted the new brackets that I'll use to attach the Facade panels to the frame. BUT... I realized I needed to enlarge the screw holes, and drilling larger holes messed up the paint job, so I repainted them. I was also making a SMALL adjustment to the keyboard shelf, and chipped off the corner of one side of the folding shelf... CR@P!!!
... Glued that up, but it needs a day to dry, so I did some computer testing instead. I still haven't gone to the home improvement store yet to get the electrical terminals I need to hook up the Powercon connectors on the patch panel of the bottom rack. I WILL be SO glad when I can say I'm completely done with the black paint. I have black paint under my finger nails that will take WEEKS to get rid of. I think I'm finally done painting... so of course the rubber gloves I ordered came today.
I also got a few other little touch-up things done today... after the torrential rains ended.
