I usually have them on either side of my DJ table. I try to space them out when I can but sometimes they are only a foot from each edge. This can happen with or without subs. When using subs I usually have them in front of the table. Thanks

My goal is to prevent hearing damage as much as possible. I'd like to be able to cancel out the sound from my system so I can hear the mix and cue at low volumes. Recently I've had to turn my headphones up loud to hear them which leaves my ears ringing after the event.

I'm looking for the best noise cancelling headphones or in-ear monitors. Which type offers the best hearing protection? My main goal is to block out as much outside sound as possible. I'll take that over headphones that might have better sound quality but poorer isolation. Looking to stay below...

Thanks for all the advice. Here's the response from QSC forums.. This being more than 1.5 ms delay, would simply moving the subs 2 feet forward like suggested work?

Paul, Apparently the new processing in the K and KW series creates a slight delay in the sound, resulting in poor sound when mixed with speakers without the processing (HPR, etc). However, I've been hearing it might be ok to mix subs and tops (K/KW tops with HPR subs or HPR tops with K/KW...

Could I use my current HPR tops with KW subs? I've heard mixing HPR and KW tops together doesn't work but what about if I just change the subs to KW?

How do you think the JBL SRX718s compares to the KW181? Would this be a better option?

The 122 and 152 are a $100 difference. Is it worth it to get the 152's instead of the 122's? Besides the horn dispersion, are there any biases towards one over the other?

Thanks for the advice so far. I really don't want to give up the HPRs as they sound great but I have storage and transportation limitations being in college. Ultimately I'd like something that is just as good but lighter and smaller at the same price point but I'm not sure if that's possible so...

Are the KW's the way to go in that price range? Is there anything about the same price that's lighter, smaller, and louder?

I'd be getting the 12" tops like I have now. No sense running 18" subs with 15" tops.

What was the report saying or referring to? Will I be stepping backward if I go from the HPR to the KW? I'd think the KW would be the same if not better. I just need something more mobile since I can't do the HPR181i by myself and the KW181 looks like it would be easier.
