anyone know of an dj mixing software of mac
i want something i can download

Also is it easy to find speakers for my mac
its for small parties/house parties:sqconfused:

I'm not a mac guy, but i've heard pleanty of mac guys praise a program called
"Megaseg" you may want to check into that. (try looking here: www.megaseg.com

I'm not sure if "speakers for your mac" are going to rock a good house party.

I'd suggest checking with our great sponsor Ben, or Kat at:
http://www.northernlightfx.com/cart/manufacturers.php?manufacturerid=75

This link is to some entry level powered speakers to help you rock a small house party.

Also look at www.softjock.com

A regular poster, and sponser Softjockrick.
He developed the software..ROCKIT. I'm not sure if its compa
table with a mac, put you could check and see.

More than likely you want to use a mixer. The mixer would allow you to slide between the decks which offer a much cleaner mix and transition between songs. I would recommend a good DJ Mixer, or a Behringer sound board for beginners.

If you want it as simple as possible to run, consider using powered JBL Eons or other powered speakers.

Don't forget about a decent sound card and an exterior hard drive if you plan on keeping a bunch of files on hand.

I recommend an external drive, though, if you don't want to keep your songs outside. :sqwink:

If you mean too use it at home than the answer is NO.You dont need a mixer for home use.You only need a cable- small stereo jack to RCA chinch. If you have the cable you plug the stereo Jack into audio out or headphones output on youre laptop.Than plug the RCA chinch in the CD or AUX input on youre Reciver or amp which you have at home(i think) and youre ready to go_Or simple plug in computer speakers. But remember this is setup only for trening because you will have only one chanel for two, means no prelistening for another track(where to start). For that you need an external sound card, mixer and headphones.
Hope helpt a bit

hmm.. interesting lots of confusion lol
i think i will end up with a mixer and then a dj program for the computer and add some small speakers
that seems alot better

can i use any type of mixer i saw a few at this store called iDJ now and any speaker recomendations? for a small house party for 50 people? with a good bass sound?

im sorry to be a pain with all the questions lol im trying to learn as much as i can

Wrong.First Dj softwere then mixer.Wrong again-small speakers with good bass and for 50 people? If you find speakers like that without subs tell me i buy it in the moment.
Slow down a bit.
Will you buy a second soundcard(external USB or Firewire...)?
Which Dj softwere will you take?
Do you take active or pasive speakers?
How big will be youre gigs?
We need more info if you like good advice.

If you are considering making this a career, try to invest in some good JBL Eons, or pickup some Mackie 450s. They are good for the entry level DJ.

For Just 50 people and a one time event, a small radio system "could" do the trick.

I use an M-Audio Fast Track Pro external sound card, connected to my Sony Vaio running Virtual DJ. The M-Audio card works on Macs. For an external mixer you can use any mixer you want, Numark, Behringer, Denon, etc. it all depends how much money you want to spend.

Travis is right you could use the JBL's or Mackie's, if you're looking into buying used speakers try getting a set of the Mackie SRM-450's that where made in Italy.

aah ok great!
i have see soo many speakers on ebay i just dont know which is the best ill try looking up the ones u just told me
i dont want speakers that are soo big that i need a hand truck lol in the future i want to use those but for now something alittle smaller will do

Hi!
All speakers which are good sounding are big and theyre weight is about 16-30kg.Smaller the speakers are less bass they give out-remember that(subs are big-arent they?).So if you like to be a Dj , you must carrye a heavy thing too thats the price you must pay.You can also loock at Bose pro they produce smaller and lighter stuff but cost a little more.I use Bose L1 system with B1 subs and its lighter to carye around.I think one system cost in US about 2800usd,But thats the question for Cap Capello.
So wish you luck!

yikes your right i guess 16-30 pounds are the good ones
but i want to start small but i guess i have to get the big ones like u said
do i need a subwoofer or u think thats good for a small party or bbq

ve seen speakers on ebay that are 12"

ive seen stuff like this on ebay

12” DJ Speakers 1000 Watt RMS Acoustic Audio BR12

"SOUNDMASTER" 2-WAY DUAL 15" PRO AUDIO SPEAKERS 1000 WATTS PEAK

whats active or passive?
those speakers i saw looked pretty big
i guess ill look for big ones since u had said there better and carry more bass which i like

Ok plain and simple....

A set of JBL EON's 12" or bigger.... you can plug your laptop directly into them using a simple 1/8" to RCA y-cable using RCA to 1/4" adaptors. The JBL's have a built-in EQ and are powered which means you don't need an external power amp.

If you go with the JBL EON G2 which have a 15" woofer and are about 400 total peak watts you can't go wrong... they are lightweight for powered speakers of this size and are easy to transport.... great bass response with or without a sub.... these get down to 50hz.... for a small party like you want to do all the way up to a medium 150ppl wedding gig you will not be disappointed.

Bottom line: Simple and easy to connect, self-powered, low weight, plenty of bass.

Add a mixer for more flexability but not necessarily needed.

Cost about $699/speaker total approx... $1400.00
