So I'm updating some things on my site (usually someone else does this but I'm learning to do it on my own) and recently added a video link on the main page. It seems that others can open this link but I can't seem to open it on my computer. It gives the generic "Internet explorer cannot display webpage" error. Actually, whenever I try to open a WMV video file on my new Dell (running Vista) it won't work...although the WMV file I created and saved to the desktop will open fine. Anyone following this and have suggestions?

Here is my website link to see the file in question. It's the Platinum Package video on home page.

Well it opened fine for me in both Firefox and Internet Explorer, but, I'm not using Vista.

I really like your website design, props on that. As far as the video, it worked fine on my comp running windows xp, does it work if you right click and save target as?

Won't open for me in Firefox on XP Pro. Cant click on video link and when I click on the demo video link on front page it won't open. Did try in IE and opened in a third party app I use though? Have you considered using a neutral format like Quicktime or Flash? I had similar problems and ended up converting them.

Like your site BTW... I admire DJ's who are bold enough to put their pricing up front... not trying to hide anything or play games w/clients, Kudos!

I can right click and save as...seems like this is an issue with this laptop mainly...oh well. Thanks for the props on the site, a teacher friend of mine made it for me and just tought me how to add things and update...easier than I expected.

About the pricing on the site, I'm sort of past those days when I was eager to book every call no matter what....now I feel that I'm worth the price I advertise and if people want to price shop for the budget DJ's they're not who I want to work for anyway. In fact, I feel that if I get calls from people who have seen my site that means they are serious and probably ready to book. We'll see if it affects business or not?

Thanks for all your input.

your detail about what you offer stood out very well in my eyes. That was my favorite part though the whole sight is awesome. The subtle highlightingwill do ya well. Im in process finally to change my flash site over to html so I can tinker with it myself, song list updates, testimonials, pricing etc. Good Job Chris!!!

Video opened up just fine at school too.

I'm on the lead for Platte co. by the way. I really think pricing for the platinum should go up another $250.00 to cover extra laborers or potential rentals....

Also, when's daddy gonna buy a DFX Hazer? I bought the generator....

It opened fine for me.

It looks like you have some nice equipment & operate a professional operation, but I don't understand why you are charging so little for weddings: Plus.. I don't know hardly any DJs that are doing a one price unlimited package. If they are..it's over $2,000

$750
~Unlimited Time, Unlimited Services~

After years of working wedding receptions I (as many DJ's have) have gone to a one price/unlimited package price and here is why. You will have access to everything* Platinum Sound has to offer, all night for an unlimited amount of time with no worries of expensive overtime charges or hidden costs. Take advantage of the state of the art projection system, add an hour or two to your dinner or cocktail portion of the evening or dance late into the night. I’m there until you tell me to pull the plug.

I'm in the same market as Kris. We are above average on pricing. I'm also all-inclusive $725.
Our top guy in the market gets $1600.00 per show. Most low priced DJ's are around $350 to $550.

I figure we are right in the middle and its lets fuss for me to keep track of all the upsells....

Is the Antari not sufficient....maybe I need to google the DFX. Can you all see why my wife LOVES it when J and I get together. We always end up buying new gear!

What are you talking about with the Platte co. thing?

I just like the ease of an unlimited package and I think my pricing is perhaps a tad low for what I could draw but about right for the market. I may raise rates in a year or two but I'm happy with my paycheck for now. One thing I could do is an upgrade price for the full lightshow I bring along???

Nevermind...I need to buy an Antari! 2 would suffice

Platte co. is having me in Feb. I told them to get a hold of me about super platinum pimp prom package for this year or next....

Enough with the public PM's here...I'll call.

Just a few things, A contact us link at the top of the pages may not be a bad idea, Your contact link at the bottom was not working when I tried it...
The only other thing would be to save loading time, instead of the back gif image at the top, use table bgcolor, saves time for those people who sadly still use dialup...
Otherwise great job, excellent site, your content is amazing.

found a typo on the "About" page... you have weather it should be whether.

One other thing, unless you want to wade thru spam, don't use an email address, use a contact form that uses a script to send the message.
