I just got a ad on my phone about the QSC CB 10 battery powered speaker. I looked on Ebay. Brand new they sell for $800. QSC makes some good products. Anybody heard that speaker? Just curious.

I didn't have enough time to look for reviews on YouTube because I had to come play for the seniors this morning. I got an event to go to tonight. I will look it up tomorrow.

Ebay is kind of a strange place to look, but iDJNow has one open box for $718 listed as mint condition: https://www.idjnow.com/qsc-cb10-speaker-system-1pk-used.html

I have the EVerse 8 which I really like. It has onboard power for a wireless mic receiver, so I can use it as a totally standalone speaker for cocktail hour needs:

The QSC is a bit bigger, but for how I use my battery speaker I don't need more power. I like the capability to use the battery like this.

I have a CB10. It sounds great and has plenty of power. It is way louder than my JBL EON Compacts. However, the JBL mixer has more DSP and one more channel. I have two events coming up in May where I used to use 2 or 3 of my JBLs that I will now use just one CB10 instead.

The CB10 doesn't have a USB charge port. However it's back panel controls are more intuitive than the JBL's panel.

The CB10 cover from QSC is not a great protective bag. I returned it for a K10 bag. The K10 bag is a bit oversized for the CB10 but I use that space foe more cables.

I was just curious what others thought of this speaker. I'm a Hugh QSC fan! My first amp when I came back was a QSC 2450. This is before active speakers because popular. The amp certainly wasn't light but it was a great amp.

It's like everything else. give it a year. as there are always bugs. Just like windows
Please explain what you mean? Let me say this and I know I'm going to get flak for this. I personally would like 2 more QSC K12.2 speakers. Let me say this before anyone beats me up for what I posted. I love the ones I have now! This is my disease talking. I'm an addict and I can never have enough. I always want more stuff.

The recovering addict knows right now I can't afford them. That still doesn't mean I'm not trying to figure out a way to get 2 more. The obvious thing is when would I have a reason for using all that gear besides Branch Brook Park?

Again for me in 2 parts of this, a buddy of mine has 8 of these speakers. Some the original ones and some the new version. I bought the ones I have because I heard how great those speakers sound.

I have you completely paid for the ones you have yet??

Bull Sh## Mixxy! Just an excuse.
No excuse Mr. As I said you wouldn't understand. It's about always wanting more. Never being satisfied. Some days I tell my disease to shut up, not today. I said what I wanted. That doesn't mean I will get it or have to have it. It's about priorities over things I want. Occasionally I learned that part of recovery is rewarding myself once in a while for the gift that God has given me. I'm still alive! I personally know some people who died from using drugs and God blessed me to not only still be alive but back doing what I love to do.

But are you truly interested in the present - or simply trying to relive the past through retail buying?

I'm done with DJing.
I can pretend I just haven't been focused on promoting that service, but if I'm completely honest it's because I've simply lost interest and I don't find the DJ entertainment role to have moved in a direction I want to go. I simply don't like doing it anymore.

Apparently, the general audiences seem to be moving away from it as well. While weddings and Bar Mitzvahs are still in full swing I'm seeing a lot less interest and response to DJs. At many events the crowd simply aren't into the DJ entertainment and once the program portion is over things wrap up pretty quickly. It's not simply the music either. I sense the level to which streaming content and 24Hr technology has transformed and fractured our society makes DJ entertainment kind of innocuous in any setting that doesn't explicit;y emphasize traditions of dance, the way for example, weddings do.

Friday I had a room that literally emptied 25 minutes after the DJ started. This was an ABC Sports level college awards show with food and after party in a room just across the hall from the main theater. 150 or more formally dressed college athletes and students came in post presentation, grabbed some food and then nearly ALL took the first bus out there leaving the room EMPTY.

Nothing wrong with the DJ or musician, and I kept the system live for them while they continued enjoying the extensive lighting and sound system. I had another 5 hours of strike ahead of me so I was in no rush to cut the sound and light while they hosed around. Yet, there was literally jus me, an LD and a handful of catering staff in the room. The entire audience had left the builing an hour and a half early for what was billed as a 2 hour post awards reception.

You think there was nothing wrong with the DJ. That's your opinion. The way I see it the crowd didn't feel that way.

Mix your not out in the real world weddings are still a real market for DJ’s, try h Ed d as ya of every corner bar having a Dj are at a definite decline, there was a time when this was a semi lucrative market you could DJ somewhere nearly every night of the week if you wanted, I was at a concert last night in Wisconsin Dells, we stopped at probably a dozen bars afterward, 3 had DJ’s and not much of a crowd, good DJ’s just no one there, the rest had live music ranging from solo artists to a 5 piece funk band, all of those venues were full of completely packed, with active dance floors and venues making money as fast as they could serve drinks.
