I'm in a similar position. I currently have my T-Bar permanently wired up for my mini moving head wash lights. I'm not a big fan of the T-Bar but so far its the best option I have for these little moving head lights. I'm going to try to make a bag out of moving blankets from Harbor Freight. I already use those to make speaker covers so I might as well keep the same look for my lights.

as much as im not fan of this green bag in a sea of my black bags....im even less inclined to carry a cardboard box into a gig... i see that from time to time in gig logs and just roll my eyes...lol... i used to carry a mirror ball to gigs in its original box many years ago...and cringed at myself...lol...i see they have really cool bags for mirror balls now...too little too late

i really hate to make any sort of investment with the hopes of "cramming it in" lol... if my present bag project doesnt pan out...i may have one of those box/flight case type things built u sent... i really dig them!

This whole discussion is exactly why I switched over to mini-T-bars (about 2' long). I have a Chauvet colorstrip-mini mounted on top and 2 Chauvet 255 moving heads hanging underneath each bar. Both Ts are perm-wired with Donner receivers on each. The whole rig fits nicely into a 20-something gallon plastic box (with foam padding) for storage and transport. I think the problem you're going to face is the DMX plugs. Even with decent padding, that 52" long bag will have to be lovingly moved around to prevent banging the connectors and damaging them. Good luck with it.

yeah...ive given thought to unplugging all dmx and iec cables for travel... it adds about 5 minutes into set up to plug them all in each time.. but they will be dangling in the right spot...and im still shaving a lot of time off by not having to mount and rewire every time

got the bag and the foam today! ...the bag is actually built better than most of my pro bags... almost on Gator level...but the zippers arent quite as beefy... if the foam works out i think this will be the perfect answer!

So....the christmas tree bag was well made and tough....but because of its size and its lack of supportive walls... it was just too flimsy to protect the lights...

So i ended up taking advice from a couple of you and purchased this gator bag for a T bar i have with 4 ADJ Mega Tripar Profile's ... it will lay nice and flat in this.

I also picked this Golf Travel Case up to house the 4 washfx on the t bar... size looks perfect...and i allready purchased a ton of foam...so im going to add some foam in spots to keep it nice and snug

i almost went with the TuffBoxes...but didnt want to wait 3 weeks for them to be built... lol
