Might be the only thrills they get these days ...Ha! And those are the ones who should NOT be spinnin' around!

That's OK .. I've heard zombies are better partiers ...And they may not even know if they're "dead or alive"...
Whatya gonna do... hard to ever fully understand a crowd...
..or ever.Oh dear Lord! Not what I need to see this early in the morning!!
"We Are Family" and "Celebration" requests I hate because it reminds me of all the cheezy DJs wearing tuxedos from the first weddings I attended as an adult. I know "Family" will probably work but it feels like a crutch when there are so many other options. "Celebration" as a song I like, it's fun, the bass drum is solid, but it's almost predictable that it will be the first song out the chute with DJ Cheeze opens the dance floor. I'm attending my brother's wedding in March at one of those "all-inclusive" wedding venues and I expect both those songs and "I Gotta Feeling" to be played.
People that like cheesy music like them.
I hate the pretentious attitude some DJs have over the “cheesy” music. This music is popular and works because a huge age group recognizes and enjoys it very much, I prefer to give my clients and their guest a wonderful evening filled with songs they know and love, why stray from that because I am a music snobTheres a certain guilty pleasure in that... for the most part people arent music snobs like us... they want their entire music consciousness infused into an hour or two on a saturday evening.... theyve had a couple glasses of wine and dont want to decide...have i heard this before...it sounds familiar....wait...i dont know it....im going to my seat.... they want the songs they know by heart... id love to break new music....or dig deep in the crates to educate a crowd the way i did in my club days... but i have to check that at the door and be a servent to peoples most basic desires.... if i saw a mass exodus anytime i dare break into these songs i would obviously change my attitude... but ages 10 to 80 are out there whooping it up when they hear those familiar beats.... who doesnt like cheese? vegans? no thanks...give me an extra scoop of cheddar!

I like to build trust with the older ones first...and save the second hour for the younger set....
All those songs are floor fillers because OTHER people like them .. and they only hear them at the weddings THEY attend .. so like every 3-5 years.
I wish I did an event where I could play American Pie. That's one of my all time personal favorites. I just hate people requesting a song like Follow Me. I know when someone requests that song for me it's going to be a boring night. When they request that I want to tell them don't you have that song on at least 10 CDs? I know they are going to want to hear that same old stuff that I'm sick and tired of playing. Yet it's not about me. It's about what the people want.
