I don't think anyone has a problem with you choosing not to do weddings where you wind up doing some of what you consider planner duties. Hey it's your business! I think the problem lies with the belittling statements about those that do being people pleasers and basically chumps for carrying out others' duties. Therein lies the rub. Don't hate on other style of doing business and they won't hate on yours. Explain your way of doing business without the my way is better than yours spin on it. Your in a major city with big money being thrown around for planners, high end halls, etc most aren't - you have to remember that.

Yep but I keep getting accused of doing or not doing things which are not true so I have to set the record straight. Take a look at the last accusation in post # 398 from Wes, Quote:"Canute, do you meet with your clients before the wedding to plan the music and itenerary? Every 'pro' I know does - except you." Now you tell me, am I supposed to let that go unanswered when it is a complete fabricated lie?

Canute, there's nothing wrong with a rebuttal. There is something wrong with the way you typically go about it. Dan was EXACTLY correct, in that you have a well-established pattern of belittling and inflammatory remarks where there's no need for it. And the really sad part is you have such a lack of character that what I'm saying is completely in vain, given you won't admit to being wrong, ever.

That is not a rebuttal, that was an accusation! This is what I mean by a lack of comprehension. He asked a question and then gave an unfounded answer. Hey, if you don't like being hit back HARD then don't hit in the first case. You and others still have not answered my question, what am I supposed to admit I am wrong or even right about?
 
I'll admit I did not read every post in this LONG diatribe. So, that's why I asked the question.

I assumed you don't meet with the cleints because you say you leave everything up to the planner.

Did you also have to give an answer? I have long known that lots of folks don't read the whole threads and just jump in to the fray. My advise is unless one reads the whole thread and or are following it they should keep their traps shut because it really can make them appear ignorant.

My ADVICE is to you, is to figure out the difference between advice and advise.

Two different meanings.

For example, the National Security team to the prez are advisers, they give advice if asked. So, if you cannot differentiate between the two terms (one a noun, and one a verb), take an English class between posts.


C'mon, maybe we can make this 50 pages... ;)

LOL How could things go wrong when you don't do weddings...I am literally laughing out loud...Not only because of your naivete but the fact that you honestly believe you control whether or not things will go as planned. You are leaving it in the hands of someone else which means you have NO CONTROL as to how things go.

People can call me all the names they want. It is only words and does not affect me. I get offended by misrepresentations, wrong assumptions and lies as those tend to misrepresent my character.

You say this yet by the very same token, you have never been to others events. What gives you room to critique others if they can't critique you? I think you need to look in the mirror before pointing the finger at who you think is spouting foolishness. You spout all the time of how things should have been done / should be done, yet you were not / are not there and have little to NO idea of what has / will occur. Is this something authorized to only you now? The 'discussion' as I see it is you're saying this never happens. Someone is saying ok, but what if - and you're still responding with this never happens. Yet, when looking at someone else's stuff, you approach from the 'what if' avenue and when they don't accept it in your specific manner, you get all huffy. Add to this all the negative connotations, remarks, hypocritical disputes, etc and it gets even better.

THIS .. is the problem.

I totally disagree. It's basic human response - so unless you're something other than human ..

You are free to subscribe to the notion of "stick and stones .." all you want. The truth is that words hit harder than physical things do. This is well documented by various professionals.
