That's actually a fair statement. I always thought posting every song I played seemed a bit tedious and time consuming but looking back I could have posted a dozen in the time I spent educating you! LOL With this being said I've ot some youtube action of the Aug 17th wedding I did at Bill Millers castle. The videos a bit grainy but you get the jist

You can also hear me here I'm on the air now big dawg! http://www.hitmusici983.com

Oh Really! You call that a Gig Report? What is there that identifies you? Where is the Equipment that identifies you. A Song list Played is the least important part of a Gig Report because every Gig is different. The Gear, Room, before and after pics of the setup. That is the kind of stuff that makes up a good Gig report. Not a bunch of strangers dancing. Even Mix got you beat on a Gig Report. Try again Buster!

Let's be clear .. there is no standard for a Gig Report, let alone a "good" one. I know they are things "you" are looking for.

While everything you outlay would be great, many also have no issue with freeform videos. Diversity is key, and I for one, appreciate anything anyone shares. One does not have to read or view if one so chooses.

Agreed 100%

What I also find odd is that Greg (Northeast DJs) posts videos of what he does and you love it - yet Mike (mikemerlin) doesn't meet some undefined 'standard'.

19 pages so far .. come on 20.

;)

I don't believe I've ever published a "gig report". Didn't know it was a requirement:)

I do weddings mostly. I've posted pics of my typical set up.

Greg definitely does have some AWESOME videos. I LOVE what Greg does / has done. I'd also LOVE to have his videographer at my events!

My point .. and I think you all know it .. If you're going to say that a video doesn't count because you need before, after, gear, room, etc - then I have yet to see a video that counts. FWIW, Greg's videos also show a bunch of strangers dancing.

Agreed.

:D

I'm still scratching my head trying to figure out why one thinks they are authorized to set the 'standard' for what anothers 'log' must entail?

;)

Page 20's almost here.

Canute and Bob, both have a lot of knowledge .. sometimes the way it is distributed comes into question.

I'd have no issue quaffing a few with either, though Canute has me on ignore, and Bob turned down the offer a year ago.

and there's at least 9 more comments needed ... ;)

I find that statement difficult to swallow Steve. Bob has some knowledge, although he delivers it in a rough way. Canute just cuts and pastes from other websites. I don't believe he has any information other than that...

Considering Ricky's comment is #1, mine is #2.

:)

Fyi, in my opinion, this is similar to what I was telling Canute that he was doing. It's statements like this that start the bickering.

Exactly. If one side would only back their ego down a tad bit so as not to puff up somebody else's ego going we wouldn't have 19 pages of predominately mines bigger than yours.

I just wanted to get this to page 20 :)

Canute has half of us on iggy, so unless someone quotes me (like you did above I might add), he will never see my posts.

I just make the posts for the rest of those that are not on his ignore list. But I stand by my statement.

I think it's a reason to code out the ignore feature .. and I will humbly say "I wish mine was bigger".

3 more .....

most of us here don't have to deal with wedding planners so that being said who gets the bridal party lined up, who introduces the wedding party, who informs the guests about what is going to take place THE DJ. If i don't make sure the bride is in the room i will look like a idiot introducing the bride and shes not around, so any way you look at it we as DJs have to make sure everything is in place. Canute if all you do is wait for some kind of a sign from someone to introduce or cut the cake or what ever it might be what are you doing basically nothing but being a human juke box and if thats the case open your mouth and ill drop 50 cents in and push b6 to hear my song
