I'm playing for about an hour and a half and I'm done. I've played for my birthday party before. I did one in the bar in Orange and had to play the whole time I was there. It was OK because I was getting paid to play at my own birthday party. Got to run and get a hair cut before the party. I have people I love very dearly and have done nice favors for them. After what happened last night I'm stopping that. I'm just tired of getting my ass kicked being a nice guy feeling sorry for people. Last night some people showed how much I really mean to them. Right now they can kiss my ass! If I do decide to get out I've already decided on what I will sell the gear for minus my laptop, camera, 2 HD's and CD duplicator. Since you asked I'll tell you. Not many people showed up but two people I expected to show up didn't. That broke my spirit. That was my best friend and his wife. Now I've done a bunch of things for them for free including last year in South Mountain Reservation their big blow up cookout fathers day weekend for family and friends. It's called friends and family day. We stay there all day in the heat or whatever for at least 7 hours. I looked at them as they are my own family. I know they said they had something else going on that day but at least they could have showed up for a few minutes. So right now I'm pissed, hurt and angry. We call each other brother. Not any more. They showed their true colors.

Also let me say I had just bought that new setup. So I used my new setup to do this cookout for free. Now that's why I'm so upset. Heck, I thought my day was bad -- I had to haul logs, cut a couple acres of knee high length grass, get the buckets setup for the incoming storms, climb out on the roof and get attacked by bees.

Sorry for the rant everyone. I was just upset for the moment and I don't think I'm ready to quit the business just yet. I needed to remember I just bought the lighted facade for $495.00 not too long ago. As for the business plan I'm looking into paid advertising next month. I really am just waiting for the changes and add ons to be put on the website. I'll keep you posted how things are going. I think I'm going to sign up for a paid listing to wedding.com. I get a lot of emails coming from them about prospective clients. Some are out of state and some are much closer. I did plan on buying the Polaroid tablet my partner saw that has a built in card reader. That way if I want to post pictures and video onto the tablet it will make it much easier to do so. All I'll need to do is use a media card and that will do it. Let me check on the website and see where I stand right now.

Oh yes Rick you said I get on your case about complaining. I got on your case because you said you have some bad and good years. I have some bad days. I don't look at the whole year as being bad. To me that's sad for someone to look at 1 whole year as being bad. Maybe a few days in a row might be bad but after a while I know things will get better.

Yeah, I can get a new disease tomorrow...

That's why I mentioned you have good years, and bad years. I have no health insurance, just a couple doctors in the family far away -- you have to cure yourself. It can take a long time for your body to repair itself.

It's easy to get very cynical when you get hammered time and time again. That's why I drop a shot and a half of bourbon in my coffee -- it makes me happy


So, when I hear about some 55 year old complaining about his friend who had a prior commitment b i t ching , it's lost on me -- because it's piddly sh_t. This isn't middle school at our ages, and sometimes you need to look at the facts.

Rick I saw you posted you can't get insurance. I'm not asking this to be funny. Is it due to either how much it would cost you or because you have so many illnesses that you can't get any one to give you insurance? I ask this because when my father died that's when I found out he didn't have insurance. My mother told me the cheapest insurance she could find for him was $150.00 a month. He died exactly 2 weeks after his 80th birthday. So when he took sick he was 78 years old. At that age that's why it cost so much.

Are those the reasons why you can't get insurance? I truly hope you will eventually get some.

$150 is cheap. When I was laid off a number of years ago and Cobra ran out, it was costing me $1350 per month to cover me, my wife and son. And that was relatively basic coverage. Dropping to catastrophic coverage (a deductible > $2000 .. essentially paying for all normal care) would have been $850.
