Please add to it.

This is music I used for weddings as a transition from dinner into the rest of the reception. The basic idea is that some of this is danceable but not that much, it is up beat, and it is generally cross-generational and cross-demographic.

I have a ton of AM radio style songs from the 70's that work great as toe tappers.
(many of them are one-hit-wonders)
They all COULD be used for regular dancing, with the right crowd...
but without, would probably not get people on the floor.

Maybe the definition is different in Texas as I wouldn't call them toe-tappers. Here, it's generally it's well known older material, lighter than dance music, that people will sort of dance in their seats to.

We're talking about dinner music at weddings, Canute. Ages from 6 to 90.
You come up here and play Gangsta's Paradise (even YOUR version) during dinner with grandma and grandpa...
and the FOB will kick your A**.

I will admit that the songs I picked don't work for all audiences.
I play newer songs for some audiences, crooners for others, and sometimes I use very cool jazz.
But I was also working under Steve's definition of a "toe-tapper".

(And yes, I was wrong about My Maria. I was thinking of "Let Your Love Flow"...another favorite in that same vein)
