The Toe Tapper List - revised

We're talking about dinner music at weddings, Canute. Ages from 6 to 90.
You come up here and play Gangsta's Paradise (even YOUR version) during dinner with grandma and grandpa...
and the FOB will kick your A**.

I will admit that the songs I picked don't work for all audiences.
I play newer songs for some audiences, crooners for others, and sometimes I use very cool jazz.
But I was also working under Steve's definition of a "toe-tapper".

(And yes, I was wrong about My Maria. I was thinking of "Let Your Love Flow"...another favorite in that same vein)
My Maria was done by Brooks and Dunn. There is so much more music that can be played for Dinner/Cocktail Music. I believe I posted a list here not too long ago.
Jazz can be upbeat and definitely make your toe tap. Take for instance this song>

If you're looking for upbeat Jazz for Dinner .. my buddy Vincent Ingala has a couple of CDs out. I've run sound for Vincent a few times around here (last time was a couple of months ago), both with and without backing bands. Kid is phenomenal and has had a few songs on the Billboard Top 20 Jazz chart. Here's one ..

or you can see him playing at the Newport Beach Jazz Festival last year here:

or at our local town green this past summer (I didn't do the sound this time, but was taking pictures .. you can see me at 1:50 at the far left with the Canon camera).

I do play Jazz when the occasion calls for it. I made a 70-minute mix of assorted artists that I use. All upbeat and none of it offensive.

One of my favs:

Especially if the groom's name is Bill!
