What's the skinny on Bubble machines?

I'll need 2 machines to provide bubbles from each side of the stage.

I have no idea in what to look for in a bubble machine so any help would be appreciated.

This might be a good one for Papa.
 
Depending upon your use for the bubble machines...don't go get the cheap bubble fluid, it's a liability and lawsuit waiting to happen...assuming the venue will even let you use it. Before we've been able to convince some venues to let us use ours (before the fans died on it) by showing them the fluid we used wasn't going to leave a slick floor.

Again, Mac and I disagree. But also, I do not use these indoors EVER. I use the $3 100 ounce bottles that you get at walmart and such. I use about 75 gallons of bubbles a year, and as far as actual performance goes, the cheap stuff works every bit as good as the stupidly expensive $17 a gallon bubbles. I was given a bottle of the expensive stuff when I bought the machines, and couldn't tell the difference.

That's why I said depending upon your use. If you're outside, heck yeah wal-mart stuff all the way. If you're indoors on a dance floor, the pro stage grade formulas are the only way to go.

Edit:

There is a difference between the higher end formulas too. The $17 American DJ/Chauvet stuff is junk. What I'm talking about is the $40/gallon stuff that is designed for indoor use on stages where the slickness of residue is an issue.

I guess this sorta makes you the "Bubble Expert", doesn't it? ;)

I'm STILL trying to talk my wife into doing some of these btw............

OK, ya got me there. I never even knew there was $40 a gallon bubbles....
 
I bet they have even more expensive Cristal scented ones ....
 
Thanks for the advice everybody, I'm going to borrow a ADJ Bubble Tron from another DJ. If I like how it works I may buy another one. They run about $100.

Seriously, Paul...
before you buy anything, check with the local venues you play.
Mac is right.
Because of insurance issues, some venues won't let you use them...PERIOD!
(even if you could prove there is no danger of slipping)

Mike, I guess I should have said this is one time outdoor event. The effect is only needed for a few minutes.
