Now for what it's worth, YOU have succeeded in getting me to do site surveys wherever it's reasonably possible. You're right, they're invaluable and I thank you for prodding me in that direction. However, in the discussion here, you're wrong. Despite site surveys and our best laid plans, there are always going to be situations and problems that come up at the gig that we have to take care of. The question becomes, do we handle it ourselves, quietly (where possible) or do we make a stink and require the venue, the planner or the client to take care of it? That part is a biz decision and we all may come to different conclusions on that.
