I don't know if that was intended for me Bob but I will respond. I don't go home as easy as that. Its not that cut and dried. I'll give you an example of something that will make me go home. Got hired to do a Beach gig where it is prearranged that I will setup on a restaurant's enclosed and covered Patio. I get there and am told that I will setup on the Beach instead. I said No dice! I ain't exposing my gear to sea spray, possible rain and wind blown sand. Besides which there will be a major safety issue with extension cords on the sand where the public has to walk. If an inspector came along I could get fined. No permit for a Noise Ordinance waiver as the beach is public and the restaurant is private. They won't relent! Adios amigo! Hasta la vista.

Nah, not an English Professor -- but I did spend about as much time as Van Wilder in college (hey, it was fun).

But, I would like to know how you could care less...

I mean, let's say you care at 35%. Are you now dropping that to 15%...?


Logically speaking, "I could not care less" is appropriate.

The phrase is borne out of sarcasm but of course you would not know that unless I told you, eh! So if I say "Damn you!" are you going to correct me and say I need to say "I damn you."? English Language is full of ambiguity my friend. Don'tcha know! :tricool:

Now that's the exact situation where it's right to walk away. I've also recently added an endangerment clause. If one of your guests threaten me, you have 15 minutes to escort them off the premises. If they're not gone, I shut down and go home and with the full contract due.

Maybe someone else such as the Venue may have the final responsibility of making sure there is power. That agreement will be between them and the Client. It is really not my concern."

So, is it your job to "save the day" or not??

I will repeat. I am not a Hero. I also won't allow someone's lack of planning or ineptness to become my emergency.

Me, I'll run 300 feet of extension cords to the neighbors house if I have to -- the show must go on. That's why I never leave the house without duct tape.

You don't know what you're doing that's why you need me? LOL! How long have you been DJing? 2 weeks?

I have 2 Furmans. One i brought a few months back. Along with a 6 outlet power strip and orange extension cord. Either plug the extension cord into the wall socket. Then plug one Furman into the extension cord and the other one into the furman. If i need to plug the power strip into one of the Furmans and the problem is solved. Protects our gear and it should work fine that way. If need be just use 2 power strips plugged into the Furmans
