I'm not riled up. Could care less. I've said my peace.

I think with an open mind and I do my research. Whatever the 'golden answer' is, there's always a different road to get to the same dollar amount. We've all stated it already, if you can command the price, you will get it. Period. How you get there is up to you.

Don't mistake getting riled with playing along .. I volunteered for several years with Special Olympics, so I kind of know how his mind is working.

And before anyone says anything there going to have to ask them self why would the DJ mention these stages in his web site if he is not going to make a contribution to each of the 5 stages of a wedding.

We haven't seen the website, remember?

a $3000 DJ is no longer a DJ, they are now a Wedding Entertainment Director (WED); or in laymens terms Wedding Planner and DJ all in one. And they would be at the bottom of the salary pool for being a Wedding Planner, meaning they are just PT DJs, right?

MAGIC
? MOMENTS & MEMORIES
? ATTENTION TO DETAIL
? GUEST INVOLVMENT
? IMAGINATION
? CELEBRATION

About me
I am a DJ
I play music to entertain
I make as many or a few announcements that you need
I can be crazy interactive or laid back
I know the flow of a wedding but choose not to run it
I don't do love stories, video montages, and that fancy shit

I am simplyAl

Some will say that this is the reason why I will never be able to charge $3000 for a wedding, however, I know what my little overhead is and profit is good $$$

Nice post Al.

Best,

Paul

Question...

Wasn't the DJ Cesar is talking about charging $5,000 at one time?

I guess the economy hurt everybody.

The thing is that in Southern California, $3000 - $5000 for a DJ is not as unrealistic as it sounds. All the power to them. It still doesn't make them better DJs. Just because some people can be convinced to spend that much for something that everyone else is getting for a lot less, doesn't make it magic. Whatever formula he's alluding to can apply to anyone that agrees with it. Money has nothing to do with it.

Totally agree Hanky.
