Seriously, the last thing we tested was 7.0.4, and they are on 7.0.5b. They skipped a whole .0.1 on us. I, for one, am outraged. What's next? They will aquire some other company without aski- oh, wait... woops.

I have DEX and have used only but a handful of times, it has a couple things I like, but much more that I do not like. DEX 2.0 was supposed to bring DEX more inline with the other Software but I am not expecting much.
I really wish more software had Video support or plugins. Video is the major thing I miss about my Serato setup. And with the purchase I am about to make for a new LED video setup from Chauvet I would love an integrated setup to make it easier to use. But I will not be got back to SSL as I think its EOL

Interesting point, but some of us as developers, focus on certain things...
For example, Rockit is focused primarily on audio, and the music library management. Serato as well, seems much more focused on audio and scratching.
VDJ tries to be the one stop shop -- and by that very nature, they end up cutting corners in certain areas, and certain parts suffer for it. I liken it to MusicMatch -- they had a great product at first, but then started adding so much stuff, that the program became far too complicated and bloated. Inevitably they failed, because they tried to do too much, and got too many chefs in the kitchen...
That is why I want support for plugins or at least a quality API so that others can offer an option for video. when I was using serato to I had MixEmergency and it was much better then the video-sl plugin for scratch live. I am hoping tractor and others offer plugins or an api so 3rd party developers can add the video options we all want.
That remains to be seen -- have you ever tried Dex...?

A friend of mine uses MixEmergency and swears by it too. Most of the SSL fanboys won't even consider looking at video though. There are so many people who still see it as a fad. I see it as a growing industry, and pretty soon the clubs that don't have a setup for it are going to be outdone really fast by the ones that do, and hence the DJ's too.
Seeing how LED video walls are coming way down in price and you have new options coming out for led pixel mapping to video I think its going to blow up in the next 12 months.
Once I can see a demo of the new chauvet epix bar I am thinking that I will start with 6 or 8 bars and then in the end I want at least 10 for an awesome display. If the epix don't wow me for some reason I am looking at the MVP Panels, but they won't be as flexible or offer the same crazy looking displays, but the mvp 18 should be good enough for high res video (would love the mvp 12 but its twice the price and 4 panels is $$$$ and I would want 6)

Adding new music is as simple as child's play.
For my use, VDJ is way too complicated.
I find it funny we are moving forward to Higher powered dotted video via LED screens. Reminds me of the old TVs with minimal dotting. Then moving to HD TV and video only to put it on LED dotted screens.
I just hope they fix the lil bug that won't allow VDJ's engine to see all 7.1 ports via WDM.
7/8 gets shared w/ 1/2 unless running ASIO.
But so far, running off the on board HD Audio (6 channels), the sound is amazing and no more quirky issues like the Giga was giving me.
