This was from last night. One of my usual haunts. A golf course where they use a patio area for wedding receptions. I hung a SF from my crank stand, about 12 feet off the floor and shooting about 30 feet. Used a stock pattern gobo with magenta gel. The Revo4 and colorstrip were washed out by this but the tri phase still cut thru it pretty well. I'm shooting at about a 45 degree angle. I'd guess you need to shooting at a much steeper angle to avoid the stretch look. Either way, I'm still pretty pleased with the effect and plan on investing in some more of these fixtures. It looks great but I would look into using a moving head with a prism effect instead. You'll get the same kind of effect but with a lot more possibilities.

Exactly where I'm headed. Feedback from prospects/clients over the past year leads me to believe that there's a substantial portion of brides who don't want "the colored dots" effects. Those same prospects are also almost always the higher-end clients.

I always loved that look
plenty of color, with a pattern for little bit 'o personality
and not as overbearing as a color changer or moving light
perfect for the right occasion, of course
