How does the light output of this 30W LED scanner compare to the light output of a 150w arc type light?

I am quite interested, but have to know if it would keep up or surpass the Martin roboscan's I have now.

Hey Charles here is a youtube video from Eternal Lighting. I just got off the phone with Mark who has told me that it is very comparable to a 150W fixture.

I did see that video already, but unless it's side by side with somebody who knows, you can't tell the brightness really well.

The manual says rotating gobo, but none of the video's I have seen display that feature...any clues there?

Do you have anything that can simulate rope lights...?

I like rope lights, but it's a PITA to run them, so I'm looking for something that can do the same effect.

Anything like that exist -- or do I have to build it...?

I was going to pull the trigger on 10 of them myself - but then I saw this Youtube video that is from Blizzard....

I just didn't like that rainbow effect at the bottom of the columns. Again, it's just my opinion. I know it is a killer deal, but I wonder if they concentrated more on a random pattern vs the 'snowflake' design, would that rainbow dissipate?

Please let me know what you think of them when they arrive.

Hmmmm.....sure wish I would have made myself aware of this issue before ordering. Maybe that's why they were such a good deal? :dontknow:
 
I can tell you from a brightness perspective with the RGB Pucks...I was going to send them back because they didn't seem as bright as my Rain 56s.

I decided to use them at my Black Friday wedding/reception to illuminate under the cake and gift table. I ended up only using 2 for each and they were very bright.

I normally use 3 Rains for the same size table, so it was a pleasant suprise.

I had the bride and groom go to the "colorschemer" web site and they picked out the exact shade they wanted for each. They gave me the corresponding R, G, B numbers and I entered them in the fixtures - done!

BTW, if you unplug them and then power them back up, the RGB setting numbers stay the same too.

Were you seeing a Rainbow effect like the video? I saw another video where someone was reviewing them and did not see that (he was using the RGB) and he was filming from a greater distance than the company video.

In your opinion, should we have gone with the RGB instead of the RGBA?
