I don't see a rainbow, but with certain shades I'm seeing a slight color separation/mixture at the bottom - but I think even my Rains (other fixtures too?) have a touch of that.

The most noticable color is in the yellow/amber hue. I believe it just may be inherent to all LED fixtures?

I have a June 2011 bride who wants yellow. I may just use some traditional cans with gels.

I think you did a good thing Kirby. There's a little trade off between losing some brightness-vs-getting some cool paler colors.

I decided to use them at my Black Friday wedding/reception to illuminate under the cake and gift table. I ended up only using 2 for each and they were very bright.

I normally use 3 Rains for the same size table, so it was a pleasant suprise.

I had the bride and groom go to the "colorschemer" web site and they picked out the exact shade they wanted for each. They gave me the corresponding R, G, B numbers and I entered them in the fixtures - done!

BTW, if you unplug them and then power them back up, the RGB setting numbers stay the same too.

While this sight sounds good in theory, what is the possibility of going to the venue with the client & doing a lighting consult? You take 1 or 2 lights, with a controller & using the room's wall coloring & other lighting - to find that shade or uplighting color that they're looking for. Then jot down the settings & then have it for their event.


Just a thought.

I totally agree! It let's them see what the walls will look like on their special day.

I had the bride and groom go to the "colorschemer" web site and they picked out the exact shade they wanted for each was referring to lighting under the cake and gift table. With a white skirt there is no adjustment.

When it comes to the walls or even the monogram on the dance floor - since I know what the end result that is expected, I adjust for the color of the dance floor with my projector since it's built right in the menu.

The walls are trickier and takes some calculations. There are some combinations of wall and "their color" that will never be achieved. I let them know that up front.
