Tonight it's a montage. Al Stewart, England Dan and John Ford Coley, The Pursuit of Happiness, Earth Wind and Fire, Marky Mark and the Funky Bunck (yes, I said it), The Indigo Girls and the list goes on and on....

Really fun find yesterday... 3CD set of Scott Joplin Rags recreated and digitally recorded from the very piano rolls Joplin recorded them on in 1916. I love this stuff! I have some various recordings of Joplin himself playing, and of course these lack much of the dynamic of a live player/live performance, but considering - literally - the source itself, it's really cool to be able to hear these:

Also picked up a new(er) copy of Above by Mad Season:

I just popped the Paul Simon Collection into the new player, and did the first 6 tracks. Superb sound and production (and Paul is a genius musically) :)

I'm gonna see if I can get it on SACD or vinyl...

This player, and the Wharfedales are really starting to warm up as they break in, although you can still hear the digital harshness on regular CDs. Last night I did David Sanborn - Voyeur , and I think that made a big difference in helping to break in the speakers.

Next up, Rush - All The Worlds A Stage. I have both CD and vinyl, so I'm gonna go back and forth... :)

You got nothing to be ashamed of, if you listened to my "songs I am embarrassed to have on my Ipod" podcast, you will see some real winners from me too, lol

Bert Kaempfert and His Orchestra -- Famous Swing Classics :)

I used to play this alot for dinner music, way back when. Now I've found this stuff SOARS with new Chink and Rusky tubes -- the horns blow you away!

This is way better than Pink Floyd... :sqcool:

I have to say this...

Since I got most of the new system up and running, I'm back to the old days -- I either listen to an album side on vinyl, or a full album on CD/SACD now.

It's like when you listened to FM, and they played an entire album side.

Much more fun than listening to a few random tracks -- but it requires you to think, and pick the music you want to hear for the next hour... :)
