Well yes and no...They have a long way and alot of needed financing to become a legitmate site and at this time if you have the software you can still use it.
Hard to say but I can't see alot of backers coming out of the wodwork at this point considering there are so many download sites and still hundreds of illegal ways to aquire what Limewire will be trying to sell
When you look at the BIG picture, shutting down these illegal file sharing sites is actually a good thing for our industry.
Too many low ball priced DJ's have secured their music libraries at no cost to themselves via web sites such as Limewire and Napster. This puts them at an unfair competitive level to legitimate businesses.
Give the recording artists their due and purchase your music.
There are several very good subscription services out there and they are, in the broad term, affordable. it is simply a cost of doing business.
TM Studios, Promo Only, ERG, Rhapsody, I-Tunes to name a few!~

Here is the way we used to get our music.........
Record company boxing up 78's for shipment
Digital is the future

I do not disagree with the first statement nor the last.
But paragraph 2 seems to indicate that the only difference between us Djs IS our music libraries, not our talents.
Given your reputation and talent levels Steve, I sincerely doubt that you lose gigs because someone has a monster library compared to yours.
And to follow that out further, if all we sell are music libraries, shouldn't the person with the most tunes get the most money?
No. certainly not.
I prefer to think that our talents and abilities sell our services rather than the physical size of a music library.
It still takes talent to pick the right music, at the right time.
Someone with an unfair advantage I should think would be us, the ones with the talent...and not the other way around
Respectfully submitted for your review

Don't say that Jacob -- I just ordered 6 half speed mastered albums on vinyl...![]()
