Owners manual doesn't explain how to set up your speakers on a grassy or sandy area does it?
It doesn't tell you at what volume level damage to the ear drum occurs does it?
Actually, many of them do.
Perhaps you should read them?

Why do caterers seek obtaining credentials from NACE? Why do coordinators seek credentials from ABC?
Broad dj Certification = an ever increasing demand for your services at an ever increasing rate of compensation.
Decry it as you will. It really doesn't matter to those interested in earning it.
We have considered that. In fact we feel that is likely to be a part of the aforementioned reference letters. Just time in grade does not confer competence so we are seeking mix of evidences.

Agreed, anything can be faked, and I'm sure this will also.So who's the one to say whos certified or not ??
it can all be faked overtime - even to the point you call people up
to have them verify that you have done a show for them
it can all be faked ........
I understand what you are saying, and agree that at this time any kind of DJ certification would not be taken seriously by the public. This is not like asking someone applying for Network Administrator what current technical certifications they hold.
A DJ plan is entirely subjective and lacks any perceived need.
Every serious and independent minded DJ already knows it comes down to a bride asking herself:
"what do I trust more - the certificate of XYZ DJs or the referral of my trusted friends, family, co-workers, and other vendors I have a current relationship with?"
The ABC knows this fact all too well. It's membership is often void of the most prominent planners in any given market.

As long as it isn't going to cost me money, what harm is there in trying?
Using certification to gain your own rep has no perceived need?
So self training how to hit a golf ball will produce better results than if I got a coach?
Yup.
I give.
You make all the sense in the world!
Sometimes, YES!!
I am a certified welder, never took a class.
I can play piano, by ear, never had a lesson, and yes I am very good.
Last year I tore down the entire back half of my house and rebuilt it, (My great Grandfather buitl the house in 1905), never had any classes, except for Bob Vila, Passed inspections on the first try.
So, sometimes, YES.
Hello DjDennis. I hope you checked your verification certificates. There are some grammatical errors that you should correct before anybody reads them.
