Thanks, Joe! Now I'm sitting here at work "leaking" and trying not to let anyone notice! One thing about having daughters... You suddenly find out you have feelings, and your are NOT the tough guy you thought you were!

I wouldn't trade my 2 daughters for anything in the world. They are absolutely EVERYTHING to me. Thanks for sharing everyone!

I have 3 step daughters 2 daughters and one more on the way (and yup we know its a girl)

My wife has RH disease which is basically antibodys in the blood from having positive blood babies. There are needles you can get to solve the problem but they didnt work on her and the blood crossed causing antibodies

When she was pregnant with the 2 year old she developed Parvo virus at 10 weeks. This can and very often does cause miscarrige but the baby fought through. It did cause the baby to go anemic earlier than thought. Anemia is one of the side effects of RH disease. She was the youngest in Canada to ever recieve inutero transfusions (20 weeks gestation) and had 15 in total. She was actually an experiment they didnt figure at the time they would be able to transfuse a baby that small and young but it was her only chance

Today she is a strapping 2 year old healthy as a horse and tough as nails

and she recently taught me the words to the Barney song

Just last month my little girl turned 19. And yes she is her own person, and man does she have some of my temperment. Many years ago I started calling her dewttle bug, since shortened to dew bug. She calls me her daddo. During a rather tough couple years this beautiful girl made me a book that she wrote. It has some stories that she wrote, jokes fun sayings and pictures. The first page says:

"When You Need To Be Cheered Up Book" made with love, paper, staples, markers, tape and lots of love.

I realize they cant stay little forever, but you sure wish they could. There is one saying she wrote down that is probly my favorite. "Even though I'm growing up, I'll always be your little girl, if you look in my eyes carefully you can see the young girl hidden deep inside me". And she is so right. Great now Im leaking all over.

SPeaking of Leaking, any of you Dad's get emotional or even choked up after the Bride / Father Dance? Just as the Song ends I have to pul myself together to get the next anoucement out. I just keep thinking in 40years that'll be me & my daughters

Many times!

But the one that hit me hardest happened last year. The Bride's father passed away two weeks before the wedding.

She still had the Bride Father dance with her father at the reception, everyone there was bawling like a baby including the Dj (and I had to make the announcement) No one knew it was coming except for the bride and me.

"Sue will now join her father on the dance floor for the father daughter dance!" there was an audible gasp in the room

The song was "To Sir With Love" she had changed it the day before the Wedding.

So there she was a beautiful bride in that white gown with her arms held as if she were in her father's arms slowly traversing the dance floor swaying to the music, tears streaming down her face. Everyone in the room was crying and I mean everyone. At the end of the dance the place errupted, it was probably the second most touching thing I had ever seen.

Im not sure I could pull that off and still be able to talk for the next announcement Steve

Jeff,

No think about it, My voice was breaking hard.

Talk? My throat closed up completely just reading it. I think I would have been a basket case.

I've gotta go walk through Sears hardware - I'm getting way too sloppy here......

Steve was someone video taping the bride. That is by far one of the coolest things I have ever heard WOW.

I don't think anyone was videoing but the Photographer ran a few shots before he started bawling and couldn't see through the view finder I talked with him afterwards and he said the moment was just too personal for him.

Sue based the dance on a movie she had seen I think it was "Ghost" or something like that. I can look back through last years contracts and find it. And honestly I think many of us felt that her father was really there, I know her mother voiced that thought.

Edit: I found the contract and planner for this wedding but the problem is the change took place after the planner was done and either I didn't write it down or didn't put it in the planner. But I still think the movie that had a scene with a dance in it was "Ghost". I could be wrong though.

Steve that is what makes this so important. We not only are there to interact with the crowd and play music. But we are also the ones who can pull off the most incredible moments allowing others to be the center of attention. Steve ya done good man ya done real good.
