Holy jeebies! I just came up #1 in NATIVE google search for Philly!

Ok so, I checked at my neighbor's home tonight and I came up #5 on page one.... searching Philly DJ...
Anybody want to check it for me now that a few months have passed?

I just checked with your keyword Philly DJ and you weren't anywhere in the first 7 pages. I typed in yourphillydj.com to the search bar and the closest you came was #1 on a thread from here. Your site doesn't show up anywhere on the first 4 pages

DJ + Philadelphia = Checked the first 5 pages. Didn't see ya.
Philadelphia DJ = Same results.
DJ + Philly = Same results.
Philly DJ = Page 1, number 5
Philly Wedding DJ = Same results as the first 3 searches.
Philly Bubble Parties = Page 1, number 9 (Although there were some ODJT links on #2 referring to Papa Deuce)

Well, Kirby just found it on page one as well, using my primary keywords.
The new algorithms are dynamic. They require a certain amount of input on your part, to get the output you want.
You can't just rest on your laurels anymore...

Now, when I type in "winston salem dj", the following is what pops up. If you look at the listings beside the map and the native listings under the map, KICKIT PRODUCTIONS is listed pretty prominently. Much of that has to do with the fact that my site is heavy on keywords and key terms on each page. I also work on my site constantly, and every time a page is saved with new or updated information, it gets crawled anew by Google's spiders. Something simple such as adding or changing a couple of keywords is all it takes.

I believe unless you specify otherwise, the algorithms also take into accont your locaition (IP address).. Search is becoming moe local based on the notion that most people are looking for something close to home.
It could be that the closer you are to "Philadelphia" the more relevent "Philly" becomes in the seearch term. The farther away you get the more likley you are to need "Philly PA" to distinguish the location from the more general use of "Philly" as a modifier?
"Philly" as a lone modifier is relevent to cream cheease, steak sandwiches, sports teams, and as a mispelling or misnomer: horses and attractive young women.
