This is to all the part-timers that Dj about how much do you spend downloading music lets say monthly.

$0.00 ;)

I probably average about $10/month. I don't do schools or clubs so no real need to have a deep current catalog. When Spring wedding season starts, I beef up my catalog. Around this time of year, I purchase very little.

The ones who said $0.00 do you download music free then or what I am confused

Since we've started subscribing to Prime Cuts weekly, our downloads are almost non-existant. Maybe $1 or $2 a month, if it's something that I don't want to own a Greatest Hits CD.

YMMV

How is that can you please explain

I like having an original hard copy of every track I own, I'm too picky and I'd rather make a .wav copy from the original and then to mp3 at 320 kbps. I'm not in the business but I do have an addiction to music so my collection keeps growing.

Well the word Full and Part Time is Subjective. Anyways, aside from a few subscriptions I pay $0.00 for Downloads. Nope, I don't use Limewire or anything like that for my music. Each day I get about 6-10 High Quality Downloads (DJ Versions + Remixes and Instrumentals)
of new released and pre released music directly from the Artists/Promotion Companies/Labels. I first have to listen to each song then grade it with feedback. Once that is done, the song is "unlocked" for downloading.

That is cool

Promo Only Subscriber. I use I tunes for the one off request/first dances I might not have. It varies month to month.....average is probably $10/month.

Why are you asking the part timers only?

No reason I would just think the Full timers would spend more on music than part-timers

While I subscribe to Top Hits, I also love to just look around and find songs or artists I enjoy and would use at events at Amazon.

That's how I found artists like Renee Olstead, Melody Gardot, Sophie Milman and Willie Nelson's new CD "American Classics".

I also found "Footprints In The Sand" by Leona Lewis (great parent dance track) and "Bella Note" by Los Lobos - great for dinner at receptions BTW.

Being a music junkie, I do not want to be dependent on just what Top Hits thinks I should have. Music can almost be an addiction - and no I don't need therapy!

So some months I spend $20 to $30 additional - just for harmless fun.

I give myself a $20 allowance for every gig for some songs on a clients Must Play list. I let them know that 20 is the max of songs Iwill purchase if I dont have it. So depends on how many gigs and how obscure the must play lists are. I have Prime Cuts right now so that kinda fills in most of the current standards.
On average though just on stuff that interests me personally, maybe $20 per month on Amazon or Walmart.
