Is it just me, or are your patrons hearing a questionable lyric when you play Poker Face by Lady GaGa? In the chorus of "pa pa pa poker face pa pa poker face", sung monosyllabically thru an auto tuner several times in the song, the auto tuner has no problem translating "poker face" the first time, but comes out rather suggestively the second time.

Anyone else having their people hearing this and commenting?

Nobody has commented to me about it but I can clearly hear what you're talking about, and have heard it since day 1 with this song.

My guess is that it was done intentionally because, as you said, the first go-round with it is very clear...the second is not.

It says P P P P F*ck her face, without question. Now get that D*mn bush out of my way.

LOL!

Yeah, I feel it was intentionally done, with a tongue in cheek...but when I am playing this for teens and at parties with older ears, I am feeling uncomfortable. You would think more would be said about it by the powers that be.

I was just wondering if it was me and mine only hearing it. Glad to hear others do too.

I thought that it was Fock her face at first too......listen to it closely and then it fits with the lyrics....

Listen to Disturbia by Rihanna....I swear she's singing "Disturbula"

I think the same thing, sounds exactly like that.

It's the suggestive effect that allows you to hear that after someone mentions it. It's the magic of mishearing lyrics, definitely nothing new.

It doesn't say it, subtle or not the FCC wouldn't allow that to be played thousands of times on radio stations across the nation every day if that's what it said.

I remember when Blue by Eiffel 65 came out, my friends and I had fun developing our own interpretations of the song since the vocals were so abstract. The only one I can remember is "I'm blue, I'm in need of a guy"...the point is, we were all able to joke around and hear what the others were hearing. So if someone says, "it sound like *this*", there is a good chance you'll be able to convince yourself to hear the same thing.

There are two versions of this song one says Poker face and the other says F**k her face. I heard them both the other day within just a few hours of one another. Definitely different versions on the same XM station.
