Here is some playlists I have developed for a school I do dances at that are right up the alley like your talking about... What confuses me is that the catholic dances here in town that I dj and my partners DJ at have prob worse music than the biggest 5A school here.

Anyways, the one with highlighter the final two is the newest list we have developed, not much has changed... Yes it will be a long night. . . restricted playlist = less referals. The parents dont care.

Hope it helps, Sincerely,

- Travis

No meeting, she said she was more than satisfied after talking to me on the phone. She said I was the only DJ she talked to that didn't slam everyone else in the industry and I was the only one to ofer suggestons and help her get started on the planning.
I was also the only one willing to meet fae to face for free.

Customer service sells my friend.

I cannot believe no-one would meet with her for free. Blows me away.

Steve, I did not write violent lol. In fact it is mispelled haha. My roadie goes to that school and I got him to do all the dirty work for me lol.

Shake it, won't get played at this school, but every other dance yes. I see nothing wrong with it. It is all in how you interpret the song lol.

"Shake it" is a tad risqué......but unlike I kissed a girl...it's subject to interpretation a number of ways....

What exactly are you shaking?

When I grow up...again; risque; I would play it....

I can understand L'il Wayne, L'il Jon and all that thug rap crap.....

good luck.....I feel for you...

Steve your shaking "it" sorry couldn't resist lol. The music video isn't even sexual in any nature. It's just a group of young'n's having a great time.

When I grow up is not played by me at any event.
I refuse to play I Kissed a Girl, I'm annoyed by the song in the first place.

I played Shake It and I Kissed A Girl last night at an Elementary school Halloween bash with kids and parents. How many complaints do you think I got?

Today is the day and I got a call last night. The parents have been adding to the do not play list and that is getting huge. They have taken away almost everything in the top 40 around here. This is going to be a challenge. Anybody want to throw out some songs without swears, racial references, religious references, sexual references or anything else that may offend. One of the parents even put the Monster Mash on the DNP list. I will be playing it anyways. This is a halloween dance..

young...

if you cant play monster mash, whats up with that your gonna have a long long night because everything you play your gonna wonder was that ok to play

I'm doing an elementary school event on Saturday. My plan is attached...

BTW, I probably won't get to the open dance because they'll have some prize winners to announce for other stuff.

all I heard from the faculty and the kids and parents

Was great job! Also great music! Thanks for helping us have a great time!
Of course I played Souljah Boy-Crank Dat as it was a request as was When I Grow Up.:sqwink:
that you heard?:sqwink:

did you play Soulja Boy?

let me clarify... Last nights elementary school event was not Catholic. Though catholics may have been present.

The dance was a huge success. The kids thought I was an awesome DJ and loved the music. They were understanding about why I couldn't play a LOT of their requests. I handed out 6 business cards and had a parent ask me about DJing her daughter sweet sixteen in the spring. The teachers and parents caved and lowered their standards after a few kids complained that the DNP list was too strict. I think the turning point was when they were singing the edited out words from a few songs which I told them would happen.
All in all a very successful night and I now have an in with the Catholic School Board of Barrie.
